« Chapter 8 « "Sleepyhead"

Y/N's POV

(Time skip to Friday)

I wake up in the morning early in the morning at 4:00 AM, rushing to my phone hoping that I got a text or something from Kageyama, but there's nothing. I sigh, putting my phone down trying to get some more sleep which didn't work so I got out of bed

I look at the date and see its Friday, the last day of school for the week. I sigh while I arrive to school, putting my phone in my pocket. After waking up, and not being able to sleep made me in a slightly bad mood.

Sadly, classes are going by slowly as I'm on the verge of falling asleep. I secretly take my phone out to see if anybody texted me, including Kageyama but there's still nothing. I put my phone back, dozing off to the teacher talking which echos in my ear, on the verge of falling asleep.

School finally ends as I'm still as sleepy as ever but I go to the gym to watch practice again, as always. When I arrive Hinata gives me a high five as usual. My relationship with Kageyama hasn't been that bad ever since I gave him my phone number. After high fiving me, Hinata goes back as I stand with Shimizu.

"You alright?" She asks looking worried.

"Oh yea I'm fine, I'm just really tired. I woke up at 4 and I wasn't able to fall asleep." I reply

"You should go home then, get some rest before you have to start your work shift." She says as I shake my head.

"I wouldn't be able to survive the walk home, I'd end up sleeping halfway there" I said while chuckling. 

"Watching them practice might wake me up a bit" I say as she nods.

After a few minutes of watching them practice, I start to get sleepy again as I go sit down on the bench next to where Shimizu and I were standing. I leaned forward as I rested my head on my hands as my elbows were on my lap. As soon as I know it, my eyes close shut and I doze off to sleep.

"Whos gonna wake her up?"

"How about Hinata wakes her up? I mean he's the closest to her after all."

"What!? I don't want to wake her up! What is she gets mad at me! You do it Kageyama!"

"Hell no, I'm not waking her up"

"What's going on..?" I say as I rub my eyes, opening them, seeing Sugawara, Daichi, Kageyama, Hinata, Tanaka, and Noya.

"She's awake!" Hinata yells as Daichi tells him to calm down.

"Yea, what's up?" I say, still trying to comprehend what's happening.

"You know its 7:57 right?" Daichi says as I immediately stand up

"HUH?! IM GONNA BE LATE!" I say as I immediately head for the door.

"Eh? late for what?" Hinata asks.

"FOR MY WORK SHIFT! IT STARTS AT 8:05!" I tell them as I reach for the door.

"Don't rush, you have 8 minutes L/N" Daichi tells me as I nod

"I know that but, better safe than sorry" I tell them.

"One of us should at least walk you there." Sugawara says as I shake my head.

"I'LL WALK YOU THERE!" Noya and Tanaka scream with hearts in their eyes as Sugawara smacks their head, shutting them up.

"It's alright, I'll be fine." I say with a smile as Kageyama starts getting ready to leave.

"I say Kageyama walks you home" Daichi says as Hinata gasps.

"YES! Kageyama should walk you home! Just like you said, its better safe than sorry!" Hinata says as we all look at Kageyama.

"What?" He looks as us confused, clearly not listening before. 

"You go walk with L/N to her work!" Hinata says as he shakes his head.

"Nope, not a chance. No thank you." He says heading for the door on the other side as Sugawara grabs him, dragging him to me. 

"Now, you walk her to her work or there will be consequences!" Suga says with the most innocent smile. I sometimes don't understand how he can act so scary but have the most innocent smile.

"Fine" Kageyama says, rolling his eyes as we both walk out the door, saying goodbye.

While walking, it's a bit awkward as we aren't saying anything to each other. I suddenly yawned as he noticed.

"You're still tired?" He asks as I nod.

"Lazy sleepyhead" he mumbled as I looked at him, hitting him on the side as he groaned in pain.

"I heard that!" I tell him. I look at the time seeing 8:02. We'll arrive there before 8:05 so it's fine. 

"If your sleepy, then shouldn't you just skip work?" He asks as I give him a glare as if I was shooting daggers at him.

"Are you dumb? I'll get in trouble with my boss. Plus, I need the money" I tell him as he shrugs.

"Oh well, you do you" He replies as I roll my eyes at him.

After a minute or two, we arrive at the cafe.

"Imma go now, I'll see you at school I guess" I tell him. I start walking away as he grabs my wrist as I look at him confused.

"Hm?"

"Let me be your first customer" He says smiling proudly.

"Pfft- alright, what drink?" I ask him.

"Blueberry milkshake, what else?" 

"Alright then" I say as I start walking away. Suddenly I realize he's still holding my wrist.

"U-Uh Kageyama-" He looks down as he immediately lets go

"Sorry." He says as I nod.

"It's alright" I start walking inside the cafe, looking down on my wrist. I can feel myself blushing a bit as I walk in the cafe. I shake my head as I tell my co-worker the drink she needs to make.

A few minutes later, I walk outside as I see Kageyama waiting. I hand him his drink as I whisper loud enough for him to hear. 

"Cannibal!" I chuckle as he gives me a death stare.

"It's true, you can't lie" I tell him

"Just shut up." He replies, taking a sip of his drink.

"I'm gonna go back inside." I tell him, pointing to the door.

"Alright, see ya at school." He says, about to walk away with the milkshake.

"Wait." I tell him, stopping him in his tracks.

"Thanks for walking me here today" I mumble as he nods, walking away. I looked down at my wrist where he held it as I stood there. For some reason, it left me dumbfounded.

"Y/N you coming in or not?" My boss says as I quickly snap out of my thoughts.

"Coming!" I reply, running back inside the cafe.
