A Little Surprise

Coronation came and went. It was a joyous occasion and the 9 realms accepted Loki as their new All Father. The people loved you as All Mother just at much as they loved Frigga. With you and Loki on the throne it was hard to visit the team but you would still have your weekly talks with Bucky. You and Loki managed to get some time so you could visit the team and Thor. You and Loki had a surprise and wanted to arrive with out any of them knowing. "Are you expecting any missions soon?" You ask Bucky during a Friday night talk. "Yeah actually hydra base mission nothing too serious. Should be gone 2 days tops." "Are all of you going?" "Yeah I think so. Why?" "Just wondering." You hum trying not to sound suspicious. "Did you get my birthday gift?" "Oh yeah thank you! I was a little concerned to find a random box on my bed after coming back to the compound. I thought it was a bomb or something but then I read the tag." He chuckles. Bucky takes the gift out of his sheath around his thigh. "I always keep it with me. It seems to be lucky." "Oh that's because I enchanted it." You giggle as he examines his Asgardian knife. "I figured. It's really well made and feels nice in my hand. Thank you again." "I'm glad you like it Bucky. I got to run. Tell everyone we say hi and hug Peter for me." "Will do. Do you know if you'll be back anytime soon? We all really miss you and Loki." "I don't really know Bucky. Who knew we would have so much stuff to do. Odin and Frigga made it look so easy." You laugh and he nods. "Well I'll let you go doll. Let Loki know we miss you guys." "Will do Sargent." You give him a playful salute and he laughs. "See ya my Queen." He says with a bow before your illusion disappears. 

"Oh Loki." You say in a sing song voice behind his throne. "Yes little one?" He replies the same way. "I got some information from our metal armed friend that the team will be on a mission for a few days. Now would be a good time to pop in and show them the surprise." You say as you sit in his lap. "Oh good I'll make the arrangements then. I can't wait to see their reaction especially Thor's." He hums as he holds you tight. "It will be safe to travel through the bifrost right?" "Yeah it will be ok." "Great see you at dinner then?" "Of course dear wife see you then." You kiss him before you go to check on your surprise.

Odin and Frigga wave you off as you and Loki walk into the bifrost beam. You can hear the team in the elevator when you and Loki get into position in the lounge area of the compound. "Brother? Sister? What a surprise!" Thor booms and walks over to you two. Loki gets up and blocks him from seeing you. "Thor we have a surprise but you need to be quiet." Loki chuckles as Thor raises an eyebrow in confusion. The team huddle around Loki when there was a soft squeal from behind him. "Everyone I'd like you to meet our son, James Lokison." Loki says as he moves to the side. Everyone looks in awe at the small baby in your arms. "Surprise." You giggle as you get up for everyone to get a better look. "You had a baby and you didn't tell me? Your own brother? His own uncle." Thor says gripping Loki by the arm. "If I told you it wouldn't be a surprise now would it you big oaf." Loki teases as you walk up to the blonde. "Would you like to hold your nephew?" You coo as he nods and holds out his arms. You gently place the baby in his hands. "He's so small." "Yeah but it won't last long." You sigh looking down at your child. Thor hands him back to you and you pass him around to whoever wants to hold him. Bucky holds out his arms for the baby. "We named him after you." You whisper as he cradles the babe with his flesh hand using the metal one as support. "Why me?" "Because you're my best friend and wanted him named after a good man. Someone he could look up to." "Wow this is an honor thanks guys." He says as tears prickle his eyes. "Don't mention it Barnes." Loki says as he pats him on the back. "Can I see?" Peter asks and you nod. "Hold your arms like this and turn your hand like this so you can hold his head. Babies have wobbly heads so you got to hold it up for them." You say as you position his arms correctly. Loki takes James from Bucky and places him in Peter's arms. "Hey there little guy. My name is Peter." He says softly causing James to giggle. "Oh no what did it do." He gasps. "Nothing he's just laughing." You giggle. "Are you staying long?" Tony asks looking down at the baby. "A day or two. If that's ok?" Loki says as he sits on the couch. "Of course you guys are always welcome here. Just wanted to see if we need to baby proof the place." Tony laughs as he pours himself a drink. James starts to squirm and Peter looks up at you with wide eyes. "It's ok think he's getting hungry." You take the baby from him and sit on the couch next to Loki. You begin to feed James as Loki covers your exposed chest with a blanket. "Thank you." You hum and he kisses your temple. "How did you keep it a secret? We saw each other every Friday when we have our talks." Bucky asks sitting next to you. "If you remember correctly you only saw me from the chest up. I was always sitting down so you couldn't see my bump." You tease. "But Thor went back to Asgard a few times recently. How did you not see she was pregnant?" Wanda asks as she takes a drink. "She didn't look different when I saw her." He says with a shrug. "Really? come on guys. I'm a witch that can shape shift. I can make my body look however I want it to." You lift up the blanket to check on your son who is still suckling away. "He must be really hungry." Loki chuckles as he drapes his arm around your shoulders.

"So how do you manage having a baby and ruling?" Steve asks at dinner. "Odin and Frigga help a lot. They were more excited about James than we were and we were over the moon when we found out I was pregnant." You say as Loki places his hand on your thigh. "Really? Father helps? I have to see this." Thor chuckles finding it hard to see Odin as an active grandfather. "Oh yeah he even changes diapers." Loki says as he sips his wine. "There was one time he was holding James and he grabbed his beard and would not let go. We had to gently pry his little hand off." "It was an Odin'a beard moment for sure." You giggle as you look over at your sleeping baby. "Mischievous just like his father I see." Thor says as he gently caresses the babe's cheeks.

After a few days at on Midgard you return home to relived grandparents. They quickly scoop up the baby. "We missed you so much little prince." Frigga coos as she kisses his cheeks. "How was your visit?" Odin asks offering you his arm to walk you back to the palace. "Wonderful everyone loved the baby. You should have seen him in Thor's arms. He just about fit in the palm of his had." You sigh contently as you feel Loki's hand on your back. "That's good but we are glad you're home. We didn't know what to do with ourselves with out James here." "Thank you for being here to help. We wouldn't know what to do without you guys." Loki says and you nod. "That's what grandparents are for right? Now you two get some rest we'll put James down for a nap soon." Frigga says as you stop at your bedroom door. "Thanks mother." You hum before kissing your baby. "See you after your nap baby boy." Loki coos as he kisses him on his head.

You crawl into bed and Loki follows. "How did we get so lucky?" You ask as you face Loki. "I don't know my love but I'm not going to question it." He says through a yawn. "Let's just rest my love and enjoy each others company." "I love you Loki." "I love you more." He sighs as he pulls you close to him. "Not possible." You giggle. "Hush now little one. We are supposed to be resting." He kisses your forehead and you slip your leg between his. You start to hum your song softly as Loki runs his fingers through your hair. Your hums become softer and softer as you drift to sleep with Loki following closely behind. You dream of all the years to come with the love of your life by your side. You dream of your baby growing up and being successful in whatever he chooses to do with his life. You dream of other children you may have. Of your Midgardian friends and then your parents. You know they are proud of you and happily watching over you loki and James. You sleep soundly with a smile on your face excited for what the future will hold.
