she smiles

all of the time

but she is not happy

she thinks she has to look a certain way

act a certain way

talk a certain way

she thinks she has to fit the image

that society calls perfect

she is tired of trying to he perfect

so when everyone was gone

she went into the bathroom

locked the door

and took a nice long shower

listening to her favourite songs

as loud as they will go

she just sat there

letting the hot water run smoothly

down her face

and her back

it ruined her perfect makeup

and her perfect hair

but she did not care

while she was in the shower

they all came back

they heard her music and knew

she is in the shower

so they left her alone

while her loud happy song was playing

she was crying

because she knows

that the feelings the song expresses

are not the feelings she feels

the feelings from the song

are the feelings everyone

no matter who it is

always expects of her

she is tired of trying to be perfect

because she knows she is not

but she does not want them to leave her

they way everyone else did

because they

are all she has left

so
