"Is she waking up?" "I don't think so .."

Cordelia felt cold, she groaned and dragged her comforter over her head. Well, attempted to but the comforter didn't budge. She opened just one blue eye, the bright morning light didn't allow her other eye to open, "what the?" "Happy Birthday!"

Her family surrounded her, her siblings sat on her bed which explained why her comforter hadn't moved while her parents stood at the edge of the bed beaming. They all were smiling actually which caused Cordelia to grin back at them sleepily.

"Good morning to you guys too." She blinked back her sleep and rubbed her eyes, Rosalie was patting down her bed hair for her gently. Once she managed to open both her eyes again her sharp eyes focused more better, and she realized her room was filled with pink and champagne colored balloons.

Cordelia's birthdays weren't yearly. They were more monthly or on a month and a half basis due to her growth rate. This was her last birthday though .. or at least Carlisle suspected it was. Her growth rate had been slowing down and her features seemed to have filled in. A hybrid child was beautiful with soft features to draw in all the adoration in the world, like ay other vampire. Cordelia still had that softness to her but she also had a maturity to her now as well.

Alice shot up from her place in between Edward and Jasper, "come on Cordelia! I have the perfect day planned out for you! It starts with your favorite breakfast!" Now Cordelia had never been a big breakfast foods kind of girl, if she could have steak for breakfast she honestly would. Pancakes and whatnot were boring to her. Her mother never failed to whip up something good for her though.

"She needs to shower first Alice," Carlisle laughed before grabbing the pixie haired girl by her shoulders. "I don't think she wants to look like a bird made a nest out her hair on her birthday .." Emmett snickered and Edward laughed alongside him.

Cordelia rolled her eyes, "not even on my birthday do I get a break." "Come on everyone, let's give your sister time to get dolled up." Esme guided the family out of the room with her hands on her hips and shut Cordelia's door on their ruckus. Cordelia sat up and sighed with a faint smile on her lips as she looked around all the balloons. Her birthdays were always the best, Alice made damm sure of it.

She made sure to shower quickly and decided on a cute white mini dress, then she curled the ends of her hair before bringing half of it up with a pink bow. It was cute and simple, just the way she liked it. After adding her favorite pieces of jewelry and a small spritz of vanilla perfume she made her way downstairs, following the smell of food and the sound of chatter.

"Here you go baby," Esme led Cordelia to the dining table where a plate of breakfast tacos and her favorite strawberry banana shake awaited for her. Breakfast of champions. "Thank you mama," Cordelia gleamed.

As Cordelia ate the conversation at the table flowed smoothly as it usually did until ... "Newborns, an army of newborns," Edward whispered to Alice. "Edward, we aren't going to talk about that on Grace's birthday." Rosalie was scowling but Cordelia waved it off, "what's going on?"

An army of newborns isn't something you just brush under the rug.

"Yesterday Jasper, Carlisle, Emmett, and I came to the conclusion that the killings in Seattle were more than what we thought they were. Jasper believes an army of newborns is being created." Alice sighed, "I haven't seen anything about that in the decisions I'm watching but .. we're the only clan nearby."

"So you think they were created to hurt us? By who?"

Edward grimaced a bit, "Bella remembered what you said the night the intruder was in her home and she thinks it's Victoria. Although Alice hasn't seen Victoria playing a hand in this, Victoria is very well aware of Alice's gifts and could playing with Alice's ability and has found a different way to create this army." Cordelia nodded while she thought it all over.
