"I am so ready for bed" Isadora sighed as she laid back on her bed "I know right! What is all that noise down stairs?" I reply, copying her actions and lying down.
Suddenly the door burst open, Lucas and Zay coming through "okay I'm literally naked" Riley states as she stood in the corner of the room changing. Both boys looked at her for a small 0.2 seconds before instantly looking away
"You need to pack. quickly" Lucas stated, coming over to my bed. He took one of my smaller handbags I had brought and shoved as much clothes into it "what are you doing?" I asked confused "we'll talk later just pack, you too Riley" Zay responded, packing isadoras things like Lucas was doing with mine
Us girls shared a few strange glances at each other "put those on. Girls put shoes on" Lucas pointed to my heeled boots on the floor beside me "ima just do it" I reply, my attention still on the girls. We put on our shoes and stood up "let's go. Now" Zay hurried
Lucas flung my bag over his shoulders, grabbing mine and Riley's hand, pulling us out the door. He ran down the hallway, Isadora and Zay behind us "can you tell us what is going on?" Riley panicked as we ran down the stairs and out the lodge doors
Lucas didn't reply, he just kept going. We made it just outside the lodge doors before a loud bang, every window shattering in the lodge. Lucas pulled Riley and I into his side, protectively wrapping his arms over us while Zay shielded Isadora from the glass fallout
After a few seconds, the flying glass stopped and they let go of us, the entire lodge bursting into thick flames "I need firgefighters! A whole lodge just went up in flames" Zay spoke, already on the phone to the firefighters
We stood from our spot on the hill in a row. I snuggle myself into Lucas' side protectively "are you hurt?" He questioned, cupping my face and examining my whole body "i-I what's going on?" I question confused
"Lucas..where's everyone else?" Riley spoke before he could reply. Lucas and Zay looked between each other worriedly "the college students are all down the hill..everyone else is well.." Zay trailed off, gesturing to the burning building
Riley broke down in tears "My dad! Farkle!" She screamed, charging toward the burning building. Lucas wrapped his arms around her waist tightly, pulling her back "get off of me! Let go lucas!" She screamed, fighting to get out of his grip
"Riley there's a back exit they may have gotten out you can't go in it's not safe!" He shouted back. I stood crying in my spot, distracted when the sirens neared the lodge. I turned back to Lucas who had calmed Riley down, their view also on the fire engine coming towards us
"No!" Lucas shouted, Riley used his distracted opportunity to run from his grip, heading straight into the burning building, thick black smoke arose from the materials just in time for the fire fighters to show up
"Riley!" I scream, running after her. It all felt like slow motion "No! Not you! No fucking way am I letting you in there" Lucas shouted, a forceful grip on my arms as he yanked me back to him. I fought him as hard as I could "Riley's in there" I struggle to get out of his grip
"I don't care! You are my priority! You are who I care about going in there or not! Over my dead body will I let you go" he replied in between grunts from me kicking at him. He pulled me down closer to the ground to get a better grip on me
The firefighters all charged into the building, students still coming out coughing their lungs up, black ash lay on their clothes. Their hoses sprayed the flames of the entire building, fighting the blaze
"I've got you maya..I've got you" Lucas spoke calmly, whispering in my ear.
