Maya's point of view

The day slowly came to an end, it was around 5pm, lucas and I had just said bye to everyone after spending the day at topangas. We walked through the busy New York streets hand in hand, I leant my head against his arm enjoying being near him

We went for a walk through Central Park, following the pathways to a secluded bench in between some trees, the view of the lake across from us. He sat down beside me, his arm around me as we watched silently

"Did you have a good day?" He asked sweetly after a few minutes. I nodded against his shoulder "I did" I smiled to myself. "I have something for you" he moved slightly. I sat up from leaning on him, my eyebrows furrowed

I watched as he pulled out a small aqua blue box from is coat pocket, holding it in front of me. My eyes windened "when you said you were gonna propose I didn't think you were serious" I breathed, looking from the small box to him

He smiled, "don't worry, it's not an engagement ring. It's a promise ring. Call me crazy, say I'm moving to fast and that it all seems rushed, but I know my feelings. And I know that once I laid eyes on you, you were going to be the one. They say love at first sight isn't real..but it is" he looked to me

I blinked my eyes in an attempt to push back the tears that were threatening to spill out of my eyes "so now that your eighteen, and I'm not going to get in trouble, id like to be with you..not just the guy you met at the lodge who's 3 years older then you" he chuckled

I nodded, my hands holding his face and kissing him passionately, letting small tears trickle down my face. I sat back in my spot, taking the box from him gently and opening it, a shiny diamond ring sat in the middle of a plush cushion, the words 'Tiffany & Co.' engraved inside

My eyes shot back to his, "Lucas this is a Tiffany ring! It's like $5,000!" I hiss shocked, handing the box back to him. He chuckled again, "And it's yours..trust me, I have this account that my parents pay into, theres enough to buy a house in that account. So this, this is yours" He stayed, taking the ring out of the box and sliding it on my ring finger, the place an engagement ring would go

"Thank you..I-I don't know what to say" I stutter, stunned. "Don't say anything, sit with me" he smiled softly, his arm reattaching around my shoulders, leaning into his body as we sat on the bench

"I love it.." I mumble, only loud enough for him to hear
