The firefighters continued fighting the blaze. For what felt like forever, had only really been a matter of 2-3 minutes. I stood beside Lucas, calmed down, his arms still tightly wrapped around me. Isadora lay her head in zays protective arms beside us

Everyone was going crazy, students crying and ambulances coming one by one and leaving again with burning students or people struggling to breath. My eyes darted to every inch of the building to see if I could see anyone, or Riley.

My attention was on the door when Mr Matthews and Farkle stumbles out together, Mr Matthews hand holding his arm to keep him with him. I gasped and ran to them, Lucas letting me go "where's Riley?" I panic as I get to them. Farkle was taken by the nurses as mr Matthews faced me confused "she's not out here?" He looked worried

In a split second I looked back to Lucas, the 3 of them watching our interaction intensely. I gave him a weak smile before turning back around and pushing past Mr Matthews, charging into the Heated building "NO!" I heard Lucas' muffled screams shout from behind me

Thick Fire cling to various pieces of furniture in the lodge "hey!" A firefighter across from me pointed, making his way over. I coughed from the thick smoke, making the decision to run up the stairs to escape them "Riley!" I shout as loud as I can, using my arm to protect my face from the fire

The boiling building continued to burn, the firefighters water barely helping the blaze "Riley!" I shout again, pushing open the hot wooden doors and looking in each room in an attempt to find her.

I made it back round to the front of the building, still on the top floor "RILEY! Where are you!" I cry, coughing as the smoke entered my lungs, my mouth drying from the lack of hydration.

"maya" she grumbled, her breathless body lay on the floor "Riley! Get up" I crouch beside her, uneasily lifting her body up and slinging her arm over my shoulder. She moved her feet with me, tears streaming down my face

I pushed open the first bedroom door and go straight to the burst, broken window and peer over the top "there!" Someone shouted, pointing to us at the window "girls your gonna have to jump! Go and we will catch you" A firefighter shouted from the floor, his arms open to us

"Riley you need to jump okay" I say, helping her lift her legs over the window ledge, sitting on the hot concrete. "Are you coming too?" She asked, turning back to me "yes right after you" I reply "maya I can't" she cried, looking over the edge

"Too bad" I mumble before giving her a hard shove, pushing her body over the edge, a scream coming from her as she fell. I looked down at the students on the ground, the flames behind me fighting their way out. Lucas watched worriedly, his face red from tears, if only he knew I hated heights

"Miss you have to jump it's now or never" the firefighter who previously caught Riley spoke from the ground. I looked down to him, shaking my head no "i can't I'm sorry!" I cried, turning back around to see if there was a way I could go back downstairs through the fire

"Maya! Maya jump and I'll catch you" a familiar voice shouted from below me. Lucas looked up to me hopefully "you know I won't let anything bad happen" he assured me "please I can't do this without you, I can't let you die here" he cried. I shook as the tears kept leaving my eyes, scared for the jump.

I pushed myself up onto the concrete so I was standing the same way Riley was. A loud rumble came from behind me, the ceiling of the lodge and the floor collapsing through, bringing the concrete window ledge I was standing on fall

I screamed as I lost my balance, falling backwards and down to the ground. My eyes squeezed shut, falling right into strong arms that caught me bridal style. Lucas let me down on the ground, still holding my waist and using his hand to hold my head against his chest "I've got you baby, I've got you" he whispered, his body shaking
