I got a call earlier from Louis about how I should do the proposal at the fair but I was so unsure. I haven't even asked her parents yet. I don't know. But then Louis suggested I get an excuse to go over there and ask.
So, I am.
I knocked on the bathroom door.
"Babe. I think I forgot my sunglasses at your parents' house." I lied
"Are you going to get them?"
"Yeah. Why, love?"
"Go to Julies's Bakery its two streets down from my mum's house and ask for the Lexi Special." She said with the shower going.
"Alright. Bye love you."
"Bye Love you."

I knocked on the door and Leo answers the door.
"Oh Liam. Is something wrong or?"
"No I actually wanted to talk to you."
"Ok about what?"
I took a deep breath. I knew what I was doing.
"I wanted to have your blessing and grace to marry Lexi. Please?"
Leo sat there then smiled.
"My boy. Yes you can. Excited to have you as my son-in-law."
"Thank you sir."
"Liam. What are you doing here?" Bea walks in.
"He wants to marry our daughter." Leo says.
Bea came over to me and hugged me then started crying.
"Bea. Come on."
"Sorry. Sorry. I'm such a baby but I'm so happy for you two. How long have you know each other?"
"Let's see we first met at uni orientation in 2009 then started dating in 2013. So, six years."
Wow, almost seven years I've known this amazing girl that changed my life.
"I can't believe. Can we see the ring?"
I pulled it out of my pocket and again Bea started crying.
"Its so beautiful." Bea tried holding in her tears, but failing.
"Its her favorite color." I said, I also started having tears stream down.
"She 'll love it." Bea said.
She hugged me then wiped my tears.
"Tell us when it happens, okay?" Leo smiles
"Okay."
"Thank you Liam for helping my daughter be who she is now." Leo says.
"No, thank you for everything and your amazing daughter."
I went back into the car. Imaginary fist pumping in my head.
You did it Liam. Now, time.
3:45 exactly. So, six hours before the huge proposal.
