You had to stop back where they stayed so they could change into swimsuits. You had already changed into yours before you left, wearing a worn out t-shirt over.

Once you reached the lake, you all piled out of the car that surprisingly fit everyone comfortably. The burning sand bit at your feet as you walked quickly, wincing. You gave in, running off at the water as you heard the others following suit.

You finally released a heavy sigh as the crisp water splashed back against your legs. "Let's play water tag!" Pesci blurted out as his hand collided against your back. You snickered, spinning around to chase after Prosciutto.

His face turned sour as you finally caught him, his eyes landing on Risotto. "Come on y/n." Your eyebrow raised in confusion but followed him anyway. It was clear that Risotto would outrun him as he began swimming out to deeper water. Prosciutto stood in the water, about up to his chest wit Risotto a few feet away and pulled you to him.

"Tag." Prosciutto laughed deeply, tossing you forward at Risotto. Your body skimmed the water as you sunk down, your hand slipping against Risotto's shoulder as you rose up. Risotto frowned at you and Prosciutto's victory and paddled off.

You shot a thumbs up to Prosciutto and swam back as Risotto hunted Ghiaccio.

The game ended as you swam off, Illuso trailing you as the rest splashed around. "Y/n, where are you going?" Illuso huffed as he caught up with you.

"Follow me." You swam around the corner of the shore, up to a patch of sand surrounded by bush.

"Oh, I used to come here when I was little." Illuso laughed, sitting on the sand by you, the water lapping against your legs. "Sometimes I'd find a sand castle someone left." He mumbled, a genuine smile on his face. You were taken aback, you'd barely been around Illuso and to see him open up over a patch of sand was a shock. "Though they stopped one day and I eventually quit coming to the lake."

"Heh, that may have been me." You replied, "I found this place and thought to build a sand castle where the other kids couldn't destroy it."

Illuso paused for a moment. "So why'd you stop?"

"I had to go to a different school for awhile." You sighed, noticing Illuso mold the sand.

"Contest?" With that, you spent the next hour forming a makeshift tower, with two smaller towers at the front corner and protected by a moat. You looked over to survey the competition, being met with a well chiseled castle surrounded by an evenly spread wall. How'd he even do that?

"I think it's safe to say I win." Illuso triumphantly acknowledged, you nodded in defeat, your creation now looking sloppier than you originally thought. "They're probably gonna look for us soon. Also, I hope you and Formaggio work things out soon. I'm sick of waking up to him whining at the foot of my bed."

You swam back in silence, thinking over what Illuso said about Formaggio. "Where were you? You had us worried." Pesci blurted as you and Illuso walked ashore.

"We were b-"

"We just went for a swim." Illuso butted in. You felt someone staring you down and looked up to see Risotto. He was unfazed when you met his gaze, protective nature in his glossy eyes.

You slipped behind him, finding your way to one of the towels they had laid across the sand. The sand clung to your feet, and water droplets fell from your hair. The cold water began to dry up with the warm breeze and you heard your friends begin joking around.

You were inclined to join in, but your eyelids felt heavy and the sun kissed them closed. You let the sound of the water and various voices fill your head and coax you asleep.

"Y/n~" A finger brushed against your nose.

"Leave them alone! They're sleeping." A second voice chirped.

"Shh it'll be funny." A third voice chimed in.

"It's honestly rude, put them down." You recognized this one as Illuso, and the rest as Melone, Pesci, and Ghiaccio respectively. You were coming to your senses, feeling two arms cradling you. You eyes bore into Prosciutto's as he squeaked a quick sorry and tossed you.

Scrambling in the air, you were soon met with the icy water and you knocked against the sand. Illuso took a step forward, offering his hand to help you up. Gingerly taking his hand in yours, you yanked back and sent him flailing into the water before chasing after the others. Fatigue still tugged at you but you managed to catch Prosciutto with the element of surprise.

You managed to force him to the water and knock him in, not like he really resisted. The rest followed suit, admitting defeat and surrendering into the water. However, you were not accepting such a disappointing turnout for the revenge of your cherished nap.

You all soon found yourself in a war of flailing arms, splashing water, and every now and then being dunked by one of your newfound friends.

Your breath hitched as you felt arms cradle around your waist, and soon arch your neck to see Risotto. The others were occupied with a mindless quarrel. His chin leaned sharply on your shoulder. "I'm sorry for telling your mom against your will."

You cut him off before he could continue apologizing for your mistake. "You were right, she needed to know. I'm thankful you told her." His lips curved upwards as his arms loosened and he freed you, only to dunk you. You swam under his grasp and broke the surface a couple feet away with a smirk.

You noticed Narancia walk up, waving at you confused.

"Hey y/n!" He grinned, pulling you into a tight hug as Ghiaccio bit back his response. You squeezed him back before letting him go.

"Hey, wanna bring your boy toy or what?" Ghiaccio whined, swiveling into the car.

"He's not- do you wanna meet them Nara?
