"Hi honey" Rob said

"Dad, what are you doing here?" Alessa asked stepping aside letting him in

"I miss you and wanted to see you, plus I wanted to see how your mom was feeling" Rob admitted, this made Alessa smile. They went to Cher seeing her laid down on the couch "How's the patient?" Rob asked her

"Feeling awful" she teased "did you bring it?"

Rob showed her what he was carrying "As promised, takeout and wine. The perfect medicine and your favorite. I brought enough for all of us so we can eat together" he said

Cher slowly sat down so she could eat it "Thanks Mook, you're a savior"

Alessa watched the exchange with a mix of shock and excitement "Wait!! Mom, you knew he was coming?"

"Yeah, since yesterday. I wanted it to be a surprise for you so that's why I didn't tell you" Cher said

Alessa looked at her dad "It looks like you do this a lot because you two know things I don't" she hinted

Cher and Rob smiled slightly at each other "I'm always gonna know her favorite things, some of them you don't know" his comment made Cher blush "We can watch movies while we eat, how does that sound?"

"That sounds great!! Can we mom?" Alessa said excited

Cher groaned a little "I'm a bit tired to walk to the screen room, you two go"

"It wouldn't be a family night without you, Alessa heat up the food and meet us in the screen room downstairs. It's on the far left-" Rob instructed but Cher interrupted

"Down the hall after the recording studio" She finished, Alessa nodded and went to do as told. Cher saw Rob moving to her "What are you doing?" She questioned

"Carrying you to the screen room" he said before he picked up Cher bridal style having her let out a laugh.

They ended up looking at each other once he settled Cher in his arms "Real classy Mook" she said in a hush tone. He only grinned and walked with her downstairs. They got there and he put her down on one of the long seats.

Cher and Rob locked eyes again, hers were sparkling "Thank you Rob, for everything and for being here with us" she said right above a whisper.

"Anything for my girls" he said before placing a kiss on her forehead. Moments after they parted, Alessa came to the room.

"Dad, can you help me? These are really hot" Alessa said, Rob did so and settled the food at the center table. He served the wine and gave a glass and one of the food containers to Cher and for himself.

"Pick whatever movie you like Al, then bring blankets over. They're in the drawers below the tv" Cher instructed

"How did you know where to go?" Rob asked Alessa, Cher just grabbed the remote and put on music.

"Is that the new song with Meryl? I thought you couldn't finish it because of your voice" Rob said to Cher

"That is not my voice" Cher said smiling. She looked at him then at Alessa, his eyes followed

The young woman covered her eyes shyly while a big grin appeared on her lips "I know you said no exposure but I had to do it, it was to help mom-" she said

Rob grabbed his daughter's hand and said "I'm really proud of you. It really sounds amazing, you two practically have the same voice"

Alessa was happy to hear Rob say that "Well it was fixed but yeah, I loved to do it. More because I got to do it for mom" she said

Cher turned off the music "Well let's eat and watch a movie" she said and turned on the tv when Alessa picked one. Rob grabbed the blankets and sat in the middle of the two women. Alessa grabbed her food and leaned on Rob so he could put his arm around his little girl. It was one of Cher's favorite old movies, everyone ended up liking it. After they ate their food, they were more relaxed and enjoying each other's company. Halfway through the movie, Alessa fell asleep on her dads lap and Cher on his shoulder. Rob smiled looking at the two of them, caressing Alessa's hair. He was deep in thought but calm.

"This feels nice" Rob whispered

"This feels home" Cher said "You can have this you know, every day"

"You know I can't, it's not my turf" Rob said back

"But it's mine and it's Alessa's even" Cher said

"I don't want any scandal that can cause you any trouble" Rob argued

"Robert, you have to appear on camera or go to every event. I know you support me in everything I do" Cher said

"I want to witness your goals, I want to be able to follow you everywhere, hold your hand without having cámaras follow us" Rob said

"In case you forgot, I stopped going to a lot of events and only go when I can or want to. I have the entire street of my house closed so no paparazzi or crazy fans get to my house" he chuckled at the last part "Only my family, friends or people I allow. I think I have more security and resources than the president of the country. I travel with you or one of your trusted colleagues or don't travel at all. I know we can work something out" Cher said then took a deep breath, she was

"Cher, let's not talk about this now please. You're not feeling well and your forcing yourself. Besides, I don't want to wake up Al" Rob said kissing her hair

"Let me say one more thing, you never do" Cher begged, Rob sighed "I know it has not been easy for us to form a relationship let alone a family. I want us to be a family, I've conditioned my career for us. I want Alessa to be a constant in my life just as the rest of my kids. You don't see them in the spotlight, they have their own life and know how to manage. I want you and Alessa in my constant life, you don't seem to want it"

"I never asked you to do what you did and I-, Cher please let's not go over this again and make us feel worse" Rob said

Cher only looked down then back at him again "I love you Rob" she said then rested her head again on his shoulder falling asleep

Rob kisses her hair and mumbles "I love you too"

What they didn't know was that Alessa was awake halfway through the conversation and hearing them say to each other those three words made her smile.
