Ben's POV
I am sitting in my office finishing up the request forms for the newcomers from The Magic Kingdom that will be arriving in Auradon very soon, and I am also finishing up the forms for the new items to be brought into the museum of Villainy. "Wish my father would have warned me about the pressures of being King, I might not have been so eager to accept." I mumble to myself as a knock on my office door is heard. "Come!" I yell not looking up from the pile of papers that are scattered as the door opens and in walks The Descendants, "What can I do for the four of you?" I ask with a smile on face as the four of them look to one another before looking back at me,
"We wanted to talk to you about possible adding other classes to Auradon Prep's curriculum." This catches my attention as I pull my attention away from my desk and give it fully to the four standing in front of me, "What did you have in mind?" I can tell by the look on each of their faces that they are nervous, "We can't tell you how much we appreciate how welcome and accepting all of Auradon has been to the four of us." Mars starts as I incline my head, "Auradon is not what it used to be, and that is what I set out to do when I became king." I reply back to my brother in law,
"We love it here but there will always be that part of us that misses home." Eliot remarks and I can understand that because I know that it can't be easy to uproot your old life and start over again in a place where almost everyone mistreats you because of where you come from. "The barrier is no more, and that means anyone is allowed to travel back and forth between here and the Isle." The four give each other the same look as a look of confusion comes across my own face, "What exactly is this new curriculum you are trying to ask me about?" I ask straight forward wanting to get to down to the main reason they came here.
"We would like classes like we had at Dragon Hall and other schools on the Isle." I sigh looking down at the papers in front of me, "I am not sure that I can grant that request. From what the other isle kids have told me those schools only taught villain kids how to be evil, and that goes against everything Auradon stands for and everything that we have worked towards." The four of them share the same look at the upsetting news.
"We miss those type of classes because they actually held our attention, classes here in Auradon are not at our level." Mars says and I can't say that this is the first time that these ideas have come up. "I will talk to council and also talk to Queen Mal and the VK's about their options on all of this." The four of them smile as they nod their heads at me, "Thank you King Ben." Charlotte squeals as the four of them leave my office closing the door behind them.
I look at the clock to see that is now late in the evening and I start to get worried about Mal and the rest of the gang still being on the Isle, but suddenly my thoughts are interrupted by the sound of giggling from behind me and when I turn around I am suddenly kicked backwards over my desk. I stagger to my feet as the stranger flips onto my desk landing on her feet. "I have to say that I expected more the infamous King Benjamin." The young girl says with a nasty and venomous tone. "Who are you?" I ask holding my side trying to take slow breaths. "My name is Hartley but the name I have around these parts are Interloper." My eyes go big as I quickly draw my sword and point it at her,
"You are not welcome here if you only to wish to hurt people." Hartley laughs as he spins around and the heels of her shoes clashes with my sword, "I am far more than what I appear to be young king." Hartley simply waves her hand which sends me across the room crashing in the bookcase. "This body is a nothing more than a means to and end, and so all of Auradon will pay the price for your failure." I kip up to my feet and thrust his sword at Hartley but right before it pierces her heart she grabs the blade stopping it, "You have given me exactly what I came for." I look at her with not the foggiest idea of what she could be talking about, but then she looks down at the sword and by using enough force and her forearms she manages to break my sword separating the blade from the hilt.
"Thank you Ben, your contribution will not be forgotten." She smiles gabbing the blade of my sword into my shoulder and grabbing the hilt of sword in her other hand. I fall to the ground pulling the blade out as pain fills every ounce of my body when the door to my office burst open and in rushes Mark. "Ben!" He yells running over to me as his eyes land on Hartley who is admiring the hilt of my sword. "We finally meet face to face young warlock." I notice Mark tense us as he slowly places himself in front of me,
"This young woman has become your spirit vessel? I guess I shouldn't be surprised that you have been behind all of this." Mark snaps at the young lady who just shrugs her shoulders, "Like I already told you my rebirth is fast approaching and before you know it all of Auradon will face their darker selves." Mark growls and waves his hands in circler motion before sending a powerful blast of magic towards Hartley which blasts her out of my office and out the large opened window. "What was that?" I ask trying to make it back to my feet while Mark looks out the window,
"That was something we will discuss at a later time my King, for now all you need to know is that a great evil is starting to take root here in Auradon, but fear not for evil can't fully reside in the light for too long." Mark helps me to my feet before quickly healing my wound. "What does all that mean?" I ask Mark who sighs and I can tell that he wants to tell me everything but something is holding him back from doing so, "It means that we all have a part to play in the final war to come, and I wish I could tell you more but revealing too much too soon will alter the course of not just the future but also the course of certain destinies."
Mark vanishes in a cloud of blue smoke leaving me in my office baffles and speechless, but I only have a moment to gather myself before the door to my office opens again to show Mal and the gang who start filling me in on their adventure to the newly renamed Isle of Villains.
