Chapter 10: Meeting Lapis and Learning bits of the Past

Weeks had passed since Nora introduced Conner and Damian to her dad and the gems, during the weekends she warps herself to Beach City to catch up with the residents and with her friends, the day turned into night, she was talking to Connie about school and was talking about a certain boy she started to like.

"By hearing this, it sounds like you're starting to like this "Conner" guy you've been talking about" Connie started to tease her friend with a smirk look on her face.

Hearing this Nora was turning red and was a spluttering mess "WHAT! Ppshh, no I-I just s-saying that h-he's a cute guy- I mean a c-cool guy and y-yeah..." not knowing what else to say she was looking at another direction bashfully

Connie chuckled a bit at her friend "C'mon Nora, admit it, you like him"

"Ok, maybe I like him a little bit"

"And this is your first crush too, is in it?"

"Yeah, it is and I don't know what to do Connie, I've never liked a boy like this, and what if he doesn't like me back?"

As she was ranting, her phone went off, looking at the caller ID she sees it's Ranaldo, "Hey Ronaldo... Wait? What?... Ok, I'll be right there" she hangs up the phone and turns to Connie "Sorry Connie but gotta cut this hang out short, Ronaldo says that he found something weird through the telescope"

"It's alright Nora, we'll catch up later, I gotta start heading home soon"

"Ok, call you later"

The two friends share a hug before they head to different directions, after a few minutes she reached the lighthouse where Ranaldo was waiting for her

"There you are, you have to see what I have found" he dragged her to the top, the telescope was already pointed at the moon and she eventually spotted the moon base "This is the moon base, it's always been there," she told the curly blond teen as she turned to him

"YOU HAVE A MOON BASE?!, I have so many questions!" Ranaldo shouted in shock and surprise as he held/squash his face "1: why didn't you tell me about your moon base. 2: take me to your moon base. 3: why does it look like a barn?"

"It doesn't look like a b- wait, what?" she looked back into the telescope and adjusted it, and she found a familiar-looking barn on the moon, she looks up at the moon with a shocked look on her face "Lapis..?" and without saying another word she rushed back to her first beach house to warp back to Metropolis to get to lion, and as she was warping Conner was taking a stroll in Metropolis and by taking a stroll, I mean by flying over the city, he was just patrolling are to see if there are any baddies to beat up, but there isn't, he was about to call it a night then he notice a light shining in the Universe residence without a second thought he flew straight towards the house and did a quick change out of his super-suit and into his civilian clothing, Clark taught him that, and headed towards it and as he did. He sees Nora running out of it

"Lion!"

Nora was calling out to her pet, then she noticed Conner "Oh, hey Conner w-what are you doing h-here?"

"I was uh..around the Neighborhood and are you ok? You look like you've been taken by surprise, did you sense my presence cause I caught you off guard while you were planning to give me a present?" he asked her as he also humored her to calm down but also internally cringed at the last part.

"Oh, it's nothing just gonna check something real quick"

"Like what? Is it a gem thing to check out? Can I come with you?"
