(( I'm sorry my fish died 6/14/2020 and I haven't been having the best day the next few chapters might take a bit longer to come out ))

Time seemed to have slipped between my fingers. Between the endless cups of tea and V's continuous ice water baths I didn't realize I was feeling better. Odd enough. I guess my mind was on other things. Two and a half weeks had gone by ever since the incident. The past few days I've been moving around the house. I think he took the issue more seriously than I did. I don't know if I was heart warmed by the idea or if I was upset because I couldn't do whatever I wanted.

However, he had to leave the house for important business. I didn't ask much about it because he didn't seem interested in talking about it. "Alright darling. I'm heading out. I should be back later tonight. Don't. Leave." He spoke to me from the doorway. I nodded as I yawned. Pretending like I was going to fall asleep I turned around. The house was just quiet enough to where I could hear his shoes hitting the ground as he walked. I heard the door unlock, open and then shut again. I heard it lock.

I waited a moment or two before getting up. He was over dramatic. I slid out of bed as I went right for my bag. I had everything in it, both clean and dirty clothing. I grabbed it and walked out of the room with it over my shoulders. I was going home. I looked around for a second before seeing my keys on the side table. I stepped over to the door and unlocked it, I opened it only to see V standing in the driveway, groceries in his hands. He heard the door open and I guess it scared him because he almost dropped his bags. Panic started to rise in my chest. I stood there as he started to walk to the house. "Hello, Dear. I thought you went home? On...Thursday like a few weeks ago?" What? I was so confused. What happened to him? Is he playing stupid? "V, I did...do you know what has been going on?" He shook his head. "No, Darling. Ever since you left I've been out of town on business in Berkinhyme." Oh.

I heard bags rustling as I inhaled sharply. "Why, my dear?" I started to panic. "How do I know it's you." I turned to him, as he started to walk over. He seemed to have been in a panic. I could understand. I was terrified. "What do you mean, dear?" He stood in front of me as I looked up to his masked face. "Do you know anything about what happened to me?" I could tell he was confused. "Dear, I told you I was out of town. What happened? Are you okay?" I shook my head. He wasn't gone long enough to get groceries and come back. Was I hallucinating? Was I dreaming? "Prove to me you're really here." He tilted his head slightly. "Prove to me it's really you." If it even was really him. "How might I do that, dear?" It took me a moment to think about how he could prove it to me. If he even could. "How did we first meet?"

"We met at a protest. I managed to get you away from a police officer before he was going to arrest you. You pretty much passed out on the front lines. Once I convinced the officer to not arrest you, I carried you to a spot where I could check if you were in actual pain or not. You were just really exhausted." That seemed like it was enough, however I knew it wasn't. "What happened Sunday night two and a half weeks ago?" He shook his head. "My dear, I had been sleeping Sunday night two and a half weeks ago. I was in my hotel room." I huffed slightly, I dropped my bag as I looked up to him. I think he could see the panic in my eyes.

"Then who has been here for the past two and a half weeks taking care of me?" I could feel his body heat, he got close to me as I looked up at him. He spoke in a whisper. It was getting warm. "My dear, I need you to tell me what happened since that Sunday night." I nodded as I watched his movement. "I need to bring the rest of my groceries in. When I'm done we will talk about it. You go ahead and find a comfortable spot in the kitchen. I'll be there shortly." I nodded again as me and him both moved in opposite directions. I made myself feel comfortable as I propped myself on the space next to the sink on the counter.

I heard the door close as he walked over to the kitchen. He started to go through the bags as I watched him. He looked to me as I sat. "Well, My dear. Tell me everything." He started to put his groceries away as I started to go on about everything that happened. As I spoke, I didn't think it would be this comforting to tell him everything going on. I was only confused on who it was at this point. We both knew it wasn't him. By the time I finished telling the story he was finished with putting his groceries away. "You said he was supposed to be back this evening?" I nodded gently. He walked over to me as I looked at him. "My dear, I hope you know I wish I was here to protect you. He could be very dangerous." I nodded gently. "I won't allow him to hurt you anymore."

I lowered my head as he moved closer to me. His body heat radiated off of him again. "So do you know anything about the murders that were going on?" Did I? I left my phone at home. I wasn't allowed to have it because of him. "I haven't been able to watch the television or have my phone. I don't usually need it anyways, but I would've used it that night to look into the murders once I got home. It didn't turn out that way though." He sighed slightly. "We will get your phone back and do some research. I have a laptop in my office that we can use." I nodded gently as I looked up to him again. I sighed gently as he placed his gloved hand on my cheek, the leather was cold. I leaned against his hand as he chuckled. "You're safe now, my dear."

"Wait. What are we going to do about your car?" He looked around for a moment, as if to look to check the time. "Well, it's only 10:34. If you want we can take your car and mine, find a place to park my car and just use your car to come back." I nodded gently as I looked at him. "I have a place we can park it." "Shall we go now, my dear?" I gave him a nod as I stood. He was already headed for the door as I followed. I grabbed my keys off of the side table as he was already at his car. I shut the door and rushed myself over to my car. Before he got in he looked over to me. I watched him for a moment. "Are you sure you're going to be okay, dear?" I nodded. "As long as if I know you're willing to protect me." "Always." I smiled as he got into his car. He started it.

I opened my car door as I got myself situated. I buckled in and started the car. I rolled my windows down as his voice filled my ears. "Lead the way, I'll follow you." I nodded as I turned on the Neighbourhood CD I had in my player. I backed out of the driveway as I started to drive my way home. V's black Porsche followed in suit. I don't think I could've felt more safe in that moment then what I did.
