Hoseok

It felt great to be home! The air even felt different here. I felt a million burdens melting off my shoulders as my brothers and I ran through the forest around the lodge.

I wish Yoongi could have come for the whole time though. He really takes Aster's safety very seriously. And I understand why.

Speak of the devil and he sauntered into my room. "Hyung, what's up?"

Yoongi walked over by the window, tapping a finger on the frame. "Did anything stick out to you today?"

I frowned and felt a bit confused with his question. "Should I have?"

Yoongi's tapping stopped and his head turned, barely reaching over his shoulder. "You do reconnaissance, Hoseok. We can't be too careful, even on vacation. You should always have your eyes open for anomalies or things out of place."

I sighed and dropped my head down. "Hyung, the war is done. We don't have to be on high alert anymore."

Yoongi turned to me, his hands in his pockets now. "Never, ever let your guard down, Hoseok. A war may end, but bitterness will continue to fester in those who feel it."

Then he left. I was still confused and now slightly perturbed at his accusations. But he was right. I had let my guard down. I didn't pay close enough attention today. Even if I believed there was no more threat, I still needed to be cautious.

I'd better do better tomorrow.

Jungkook

I had finally put on some baggy sweats and flopped down into my bed to rest a bit before Jin announced the meal. The run had felt amazing and I even snagged a rabbit on our way back.

I hate rabbits. They're great to eat, but awful for any other reason.

Every few days in America, someone would inevitably say that I looked like a rabbit and I should have been a rabbit hybrid. Those unfortunate souls changed their opinions very quickly. I never killed them for their opinion, I just made them regret voicing it - to my face.

Rabbit hybrids were a waste if you asked me. Always skittish, horny as heck, and their noses twitch constantly.

No, if I am thankful to Li for anything, it's for not making me into a rabbit. He might have died long before he did.

I laid on my pillow, arms behind my head, burping rabbit ever so often, and zoning out. It was bliss. No responsibilities, no demands, just unadulterated freedom.

"Jungkook!" said a voice that made me jump five inches off the bed. I swear, I'm not at all skittish.

"Yes, hyung?" I said, annoyance filling my tone, but I didn't care. We weren't observing ranks here, were we?

Yoongi frowned at my tone, but thankfully he chose to ignore it.

"Have you done a perimeter scan yet? Scanned for bugs? Checked for hidden cameras?"

I sat up slowly and blinked even slower at him. "You can't be serious right now."

"Listen, punk, I am dead serious. What if we get ambushed? Want that on your conscience?"

I could not understand what had him all riled up. And as much as I wanted to be a sassy pants, I chose life.

"No, hyung, I don't. I'll get right on it."

"See that you do." And the furious tornado left.

I fell back on the bed and groaned. Will I ever get a real vacation?
