Chapter 6

Durga's POV

What I saw in front of me made my heart stop in horror. Grandma was lying on the ground clenching her chest and was breathing harder.

"Grandma, wh.. what happened?" I asked in panic and ran to her

"Maa...maa what happened, oh god Adi we want to take her to the hospital" maa said in a panic

"Mamma, what happened, is grandma ok?" Asked bhai hugging me and Nithya, we both were crying.

"I don't know baby, come we have to take her to the hospital," said maa and dada picked grandma and place her in the car, and went to the hospital along with all of us.

I was very scared and guilt was eating me alive. I hugged bhai tightly and cried "bhai I am a bad girl, because of me grandma is in hospital"

"No baby girl, don't say like that" bhai said caressing my hair Nithya hugged me from the back and Appu hold my hand like they all are trying to give me their strength.

"No bhai I...if I...I.. st..op..ed an..d li..list...ened t..to her the...en sh..e h..have been wi..with us" I cried hard on bhaii's shoulder

"Durga baby it's not your fault please don't cry," said maa taking me from bhai and kissing my forehead "baby look at me" I looked at her with teary eyes hiccuping

"Durga grandma will be alright ok if she saw you crying like this then what will she feel? What did your grandma say about you crying?" Asked maa

"Tha.. that I..am h...her pri..nc..ess an..and princess d..does..n't c..c..cry" I said hiccuping

"Then what are you doing?" Asked maa

" I am s...so..rry maa I...I will n..not Cr..cry anymore" I said wiping my cheek

"Hmm that's my girl," she said kissing me

Dada sat beside us with Nithya in his lap " dad, why doctor uncle is not coming? Can't he see Durga crying, why is he not saying anything?" Asked Nithya

"Baby, now he is checking grandma only after that he can come out and say something about grandma," said dada

"Adi did you called Jaya and Kumar?" Asked maa

"Yes I did, they will come now," dada said

'that means mamma and dada are coming. I'm finally going to see them' I thought happily ' but they are coming here to see grandma not me they don't want me I am ugly. They will hate me. I will not go in front of them' I said to myself sadly controlling my tears.

I don't know when I fell asleep, I wake up by hearing someone calling grandma's name.

"Kamala, is there any relative of Mrs.Kamala"

"Yes," said dada and we all went near the doctor.

"What happened to maa doctor? Is she alright?" Asked maa

"She had a cardiac arrest, now she is on the ventilator, she is not responding to anything. We all are trying our best, remaining is in god's hands. We can pray for the best." The doctor patted on dad's shoulder and went inside. Maa was crying in dad's hand.

Me, Nithya, bhai, and Appu were crying holding to each other "nothing will happen to grandma" said bhai and we all agreed.

"Divya, what happened to maa? Is Durga alright?" I heard a familiar voice and turned around. A beautiful woman along with a handsome man with a baby boy sleeping in his shoulder ran towards us.
