Small Town

Growing up in a small town sounds fun in theory. Knowing all your graduating classes' names and knowing town bakery cashier will be entering your consistent breakfast order before you step foot in the door.

In reality, it's everyone knowing your business before you know it yourself. It's not having family generations before you making a name in the town. Watching children of well known people win awards and recognition for things they never deserved just for their name. Living in a small town is feeling as if you'll never belong no matter how many decades you live there. It feels as if you're suffocating trying to take up as little space possible as they glare at you for breathing their air.
