CHAPTER 28: Around The Philippines

"Ano ba Hunter! Can you please fucking stop? Carl is not dead and he will not die!" Suway ni Dylan sa kaibigan dahil naririndi na siya sa pag-iyak nito. They all have their sentiments but Hunter is the most affected of all. He is emotional when it comes to car crash incidents. Iyon ang ikinamatay ng mga magulang niya. Buwan lang ang tanda ni Carl sa kanya, pero bukod kay Kyle at Dylan, si Carl ang itinuturing niyang kuya. He could not afford seeing him in that critical state. Nakaupo siya sa tabi nito habang hawak ang kamay ni Carl.

"Sinabi ng tumigil ka na eh! Crying will not help-" Hinarang ni Kyle si Dylan kaya hindi nito naituloy ang sasabihin niya.

"Calm down Dylan...you are not crying but you are panicking. What is your difference from Hunter? Pwede ba, umupo ka nga." Kyle said calmly but authoritatively. Pero hindi siya natinag sa sinabi nito. Tumayo pa din siya para lapitan si Hunter.

"Gusto mo magpalit kayo ni Carl? Just fucking sit Dylan kung ayaw mong humiga sa hinihigaan ni Carl ngayon."

Pero bago pa siya makatayo, nahila na siya pabalik ni Drake. Magkatabi lang silang tatlo nila Kyle. Drake's grip on his arms is too strong. Umirap lang si Dylan pero wala na siyang nagawa. He just sit there and let Hunter cry. Una, ayaw na niyang makipagtalo pa kay Drake. Alam din niyang hindi niya ito kaya. He hate to admit it, but Drake is more stronger in physique than him. That's why all of them are of afraid of Drake Lawrence.

"Relax...Melissa's father is the best neurosurgeon. Kahit ang daddy ni Kyle, he is the best. Sisiw lang yun kay Carl. He can do it..." Inakbayan ni Drake si Dylan.

They have to be strong for Carl. He is about to have four major operations in thirty minutes. Spinal fusion for his fractured vertebra, craniotomy for his subdural hemorrhage, laparotomy for his retroperitoneal hematoma and fixing his broken shoulder by open reduction internal fixation.

His grandfather had spoken to doctor Thompson, Melissa's father, to keep Carl's operation as a top secret. Doctor Takahashi, Kyle's father also agreed with the Alcantara Medical Group's founder. Both of them, along with the two other specialties who will be in Carl's major operation knew how crucial it is to divulge their heir's state in public. The price of their stocks is now rocketing on it's highest peak. They can't afford to lose it and also, they will not let Carl to be in the frontpage of every newspaper in the country and other state in the world. They blocked all the media and journal news about the car accident.

"It doesn't make sense. Melissa has the right to know what happened. I can't understand why his grandfather have to-"

"Melissa is not Carl's wife. She's not his girlfriend either. Whatever the reason is, let's just respect his decision. Tsaka, let her move on with her life, Nathan. We all agreed to keep the secret. Kung makakapagsalita lang si Carl ngayon, I know for sure that he will also do the same thing. Hindi niya hahayaan na mag-aalala si Missy sa kanya." Putol ni Gian kay Nathan.

Like Hunter, Nathan is holding Carl's hand on the other side. He's not crying but his worrisome face is noticable.

"So if you will be in life and death situation, hindi din namin sasabihin kay Madelaine?" Tristan butted in with a humurous smile.

"We will just keep our mouth zipped and let Madelaine go on with her life?"

Ginatungan din iyon ni Miguel. Tristan and him may not be inside Alcantara Medical City everyday, yet the rumors will surely reached them. Carl always send them pictures and videos. Kasali na doon ang patagong pagsulyap ni Gian kay Madelaine.

Tsss! Talaga naman Carl! Kung anu-ano kasi ang sinesend mong pictures sa dalawang to!

Napabuntong hininga si Gian sabay tingin kay Carl. Sigurado siyang may kinalaman ang kaibigan sa tsismis na iyon. Carl always teased him about Madelaine.
