The Battle
Bryn
"Remember-"
"Be careful, I know." Bryn sighed as Mando voiced his disapproving thoughts for the umpteenth time.
The villagers had followed up on their plan, building a huge wall behind the ponds. The sun was setting and the cold night was soon upon them.
Mando turned as Cara approached, signaling that it was time. He turned back to Bryn before speaking. "If it get's to rough, I want you to run." He told her sternly.
She scrunched up her face. "I won't leave-"
He interrupted her. "You. Leave."
She stared at him through his dark helmet before she sighed. "Fine."
He seemed satisfied and he gave her one last squeeze on her shoulders. "Ready?" Cara asked as she jogged up beside them.
"Let's get these bastards." Bryn replying, earning a wicked smile from Cara.
"My words exactly."
Bryn followed Cara and Mando silently through the woods. Mando had been against her going with them and insisted that she stay in the village, but she argued the fact that there were a lot of raiders and they would need her. Even Cara backed her up, shutting Mando's protest down.
The woods were cold and the wind rustled through the deserted forest. Darkness oozed around them, making it impossible to beyond her own nose. Bright lights flickered in front of them and they hid behind the thick trees.
Some raiders gathered around a fire, laughing and grunting as they ate, completely unaware of what was about to happen. "Come on," Mando whispered and crouched, leading the way.
Mando and Cara quickly took out the two raiders and entered the tent they guarded. They pressed their backs against the tent for a moment and Mando nodded. Bryn pulled out her blaster and they pushed into the tent.
The inside was cleared. There were tubs filled with a glowing blue liquid and Bryn couldn't help but peer inside them. They slowly lowered their blasters and spread out among the tent. Mando placed a small bomb on the wall which immediately began to flash and beep with warning.
They were about to leave where there was the soft grunting of the raiders outside and Cara whistled in warning, motioning her head outside where they grew closer.
Bryn gripped her blaster tighter and moved to the side, hoping to take them by surprise. Cara punched the first once and Bryn kicked the other. Her high kick sent the raider to his knees and Mando punched him in the stomach. The raider stumbled up and Bryn hit his back, sending him towards Mando who crouched and threw him over his shoulder.
"Not bad," He muttered.
"I have a good teacher."
"She's talking about me." Cara breathed as she knocked out the other raider.
Already, Bryn could hear more raiders approaching. She sighed and Cara gave a wicked smile, no doubt having fun with it.
