20 - Stabby

We're sitting on the floor. I show Korina my model airplanes, smiling.

He seems scared at first, but slowly calms down.

I ask "Why were you scared?"

He flinches. "I-I thought you were going to hurt me.."

"Why would I do that?? You're my friend."

He shivers "I've had friends who hurt me before.."

I hug him gently "Those people aren't friends. They're mean."

He looks sad, but leans against me.

I lean on the side of my bed, letting him drift off to sleep.

I yawn and start falling asleep as well, when there's a loud crash downstairs.

We both jump up.

I grab my knife and run downstairs. That weird guy is attacking Dad. The weird guy yells "HE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE MINE!"

Dad punches him in the face. "YOU KIDNAPPED HIM!!"

I stab the weird guy in the side. He tries to hit me, but I grab his arm and shove him down, pulling the knife out.

I twist his arms behind his back and stand on them.

Korina peeks around the corner and yelps. I pull a cloth out of my pocket and clean my knife.

The guy coughs a bit.

Dad and Mom move away. Mom runs upstairs to hide.

I look at Dad "Who is this?"

Dad says "That's China.."

I kick China in the face. "He yelled at me earlier. That's why I ran into the door."

China rolls over and I fall on the floor. He gets up and covers the stab wound.

He barks at Korina "Get over here!"

Korina flinches and hides more. I get up and kick China down. I growl at China "Get out."

He stands up, then pulls out a gun. Dad backs up more. Korina hides.

China growls "Give back the kid."

I knock the gun away, somehow getting him on the floor. I grab the kite string and tie China up with it.

I drag him back to his house. Someone opens the door "China?!"

I untie China and push him into the house, then run back to my house.
