If you could be the best in the world at something, would you do it? Chihayafuru, the story of the girl who wants to be the best in the world. This anime is the second one I ever watched and it is one of the most memorable ones.
Chihaya, a clumsy girl who isn't particularly good at anything befriends Arata, a bullied transfer student. One day, she goes to Arata's place to hang out and discovers something amazing. Her ambition, passion and purpose, Karuta. Chihaya learns from Arata that if she becomes the best karuta player in Japan, she will be the best in the world. This is where her dream to become the Queen of karuta begins.
What I love about this anime is the characters, their stories and their development. Every character main and supporting has a really well thought out and understandable story. It makes us connect to the characters in a certain way that very few anime can do. Chihayafuru makes us genuinely care about all the characters and so, we enjoy every second of the show.
This anime is also unpredictable. There are a lot of tournament arcs and in each match, we are at the edge of our seats, waiting to see what will happen while enjoying every second of what is happening. All in all, Chihayafuru is a great anime to watch if you like sports, slice of life or shojo anime. Thank you
