"Woah."
We all stood somewhat shell shocked at the 'entrance' to the dungeon. It was a massive, open gateway that emitted this soft white glow.
It was kind of. . . ethereal.
The golden doors attached were pushed open and had an eerily similar feeling to the type of magic I used and I couldn't help but wonder how this dungeon came to be.
"I mean the rumours said it was crazy just standing here. . ." Iris said softly. "I guess they were true."
I felt drawn to the place and we all cautiously took tender steps through the doors, feeling a slight gush of wind as we entered.
"So, what exactly happens now?" Iris whispered, seemingly afraid to disturb the silence.
I mean, I would be scared as heck too but I felt so. . . comfortable in here?
Huh, comfortable.
That's an odd way to describe it but it felt like home.
"We just explore I guess."
The area we were in was absolutely massive and on a scale much larger than humans could possibly comprehend. Tall columns scattered the area and reached as far as the eyes could see, and likely beyond.
I couldn't even begin to make out a ceiling!
Well I mean, it was as if we were under a starry night sky so I guess there wasn't really a ceiling?
But what if it was an illusion made with magic. . . ?
It wouldn't be impossible right?
Who knows?
I'm messing with myself too often lately.
"Hey what's this room?" Nymphaea stepped into a doorway off to the right and Iris and I followed suit.
The scenery changed drastically to an ocean blue and snow-like balls spotted the surroundings.
"This. . ."
It was such a dream-like scene and almost impossible to not stare in awe.
The blue had slowly morphed into a picturesque forest and the faintest hint of laughter could be heard. The grounds were abloom with varying colours, shapes and sizes and. . . Were those Nymphs?
They looked so happy and serene.
A beautiful young Nymph was sat on a log with a flower halo atop her head. She was laughing softly as she looked dotingly upon the adolescent in front of her.
"You're a silly one, my little Nymphaea."
It was the quietest whisper, but in the silence it was loud and clear.
"M-Mama?"
Nymphaea looked gobsmacked as he stared at the scene in front of him. His eyes became watery as he took a few steps forward, arm stretched.
A dark shadow loomed behind the two figures and Nymphaea's mother quickly pushed him off into the other direction.
"Run my little Nymphaea, run."
She gave the young boy a tear-filled smile as she turned and walked towards the shadow.
"N-No! Mama, please!" Nymphaea cried, rushing forwards as her figure slowly disappeared.
"Nym!" I ran forwards and pulled Nymphaea into a hug as he reached out for the now disappearing shadow.
"Let me go!" Nymphaea struggled to get out of my grasp. "Let me go, please, let me go."
