Chapter 56: Stupid Arrange Marriage!

Two days later,

The palace is undergoing repairs after the attack on the day of the crown prince's birthday. Many barriers are being placed around the palace to ensure that no further attacks will happen during the repairs....
The palace and the nobles are still on edge with the incident as there were lives that were lost....

Lady Cecilia's condition was examined by the court mages...and they found nothing wrong with her. There is no longer any trace of the dark magic that changed her...but even then, they cannot trace the whereabouts who transformed her.

Sadly, the only person who can do so...is still asleep in the Roseblade house.
Ritsuka is still asleep inside her room with Viola and Mash looking after her condition...meanwhile, the men are busy with finding the culprit that attacked the palace.

Meanwhile, inside the duke's office....
Duke Roseblade is in the middle of thinking hard on something. He had just returned from a private meeting with the king and queen....and they made a surprising, but yet beneficial proposal...

"That girl has Light Magic....!?" The duke was shocked when he heard this,

"I am quite surprise that you, as the head of the household, didn't know about your guests," The king said,
"....they're guests of my brother. I did not think that they're anyone important as he has...unique friends in many places," The Duke said,

"I see...well I cannot blame you for not knowing about this matter. However, I would like to make a proposal to you." The king said,
"A proposal...? What kind of proposal would that be, Your Highness?" The Duke asked,

The Duke sighs remembering the smile on the king's face, though it is quite a beneficial proposal for both the royal family and the ducal household....

There's just one person that stop him from getting through with the proposal....
Just as the duke thought this, the door to his office opens—
"Hey, you called for me?"

Gerald comes into the room with Lorenzo following behind him
"......Tell him to leave, this is something personal," The Duke said as he sits down,
Gerald nods at Lorenzo and he left the room.....now only the two brothers are left inside the room.

"So what do you want to talk about?" Gerald asked as he sits down,
"I was called to the palace this morning," The Duke said,
"And?"

"The king and queen told me something quite surprising,"
"And that would be....?"
"....that girl you brought, the one with auburn hair, she has Light Magic, is that true?"

".....!" Gerald was quite surprised,
As far as he remembers the ballroom was empty of other guests and guards when Ritsuka transformed Lady Cecilia back into human....but of course, someone must have seen her one way or another....

"And what about it? She has Light Magic, it is a rare power to have but even the saints and priests are able to use them as well," Gerald said,
"Can those priests or saints transform someone that has been tainted by dark magic back to human?" The Duke said, "You're not a fool brother, even the strongest saints or priests can't even do such things easily...that girl is special. And the king sent a marriage proposal for her hand,"

"....tell me you did not agree to it...!" Gerald said with a frown,
"Haa...you know me, brother. I would do anything to raise the Roseblade's name to greater heights—"
