Chapter 57: The Evil Incubus

"Impossible! You must be using something to hide your powers!" The duke said,
"Duke Roseblade, I do not posses such thing on me. As I do not have anything to hide, I do not have Light Magic," Ritsuka said,

"Sir, you must have sensed it. My magic is quite weak," Ritsuka said,
"Y-yes...your magic is quite weak," The priest said,

"...Haaa, this was a waste of time," The king said with a frown,
"Your Majesty please wait—"
"Enough, Roseblade...I blame it on my guards for making such a mistake. You may leave with this gir—"

CRASH!

"ROAAAAAARRRR!" All of a sudden, a few monsters come crashing into the throne room!
Some were of medium size, while there are two large beasts!
"Ahhhh! Dear—!" The queen screamed,
"WHAT IN THE—!? GUARDS GUARDS!" The king shouted,

"Your Majesty—!" The guards all come barging into the throne room, but they were all shocked to find monsters inside the room!
"You fools! How can you let these beasts enter the palace!?" The king shouted angrily,
"W-we don't know!! There were no sounds or anything that shows them coming...!" The guards said,

"Are you saying that they just appear here...?" Ritsuka was shocked,

"Grrrrr....!" The monsters growl as they hungrily eye the people around them,
"E-eeek! Just get us out of here!!" The king shouted as he held the queen,
"Y-yes Your Majesty!!" The guards all said,

The guards soon flooded the throne room, but—
"ROAARR!" The monsters begun their attack,

"AARGGH!"
"ACK—!"
"GUHHH....!"

Some of the guards were swept away by the large beasts, while the others that got away are held off by the smaller monsters. They cannot go anywhere near the king and queen!
"Fools! Hurry and come to my side!" The king shouted,

Some of the smaller monsters slowly surround Ritsuka, Duke Roseblade, the king, the queen, and the old priest!
One of the wolf-like monster slowly crept closer towards them....
"A-ahhh...! D-dear...!" The queen held the king tightly,

"Grrr....! ROARRRR!" The monster leaps towards them,
"Kyaaaa!" The queen, the king and the old priest screamed,

"—yeep!" But the monster was cut down before reaching them,
The monster fell to the floor near their feet....when they look up, they see that Ritsuka had drawn a spear out of nowhere!

"Stay back, and stay close behind me," Ritsuka said, as she prepares to fight.
"Y-you...!"  The king was shocked,

"Your Majesty, did your guard not tell you that I was fighting the monster that night as well?" Ritsuka smiles,
"G-good! Then protect me and the queen! I shall reward you...! Just don't let us die!" The king shouted,

"Haa...yes yes, just stay behind me," Ritsuka sighs,
Honestly, she has met kings that are way more awesome than him that seeing this king is really disappointing!

However, Ritsuka can feel her hands are shaking once again! She's still too weak so she can only defend and cuts down any monster that comes close!
Ritsuka looks down at her long dress— and proceeds to tear it so it's shorter! Then she kicks off her heels!

"Much better...!" Ritsuka sighs,
"Y-you! How can you show such disrespectful thing in front of the king—" the duke was about to reprimand her, but Ritsuka glares at him,
"This is no time to worry about that!!! Do you wanna live!? Then help me fight!" Ritsuka shouted, causing the duke to clamp his mouth shut,
