Eva rushed in to Aunt March and Amy taking their tea.

"Hello!"

"That Laurence Boy was just here," Aunt March said dissmisivly.

Eva smiled a little. "He was?"

"What a disappointment he's turned out to be. Must be the Italian in him," Aunt March critisized.

"He is perfectly fine, madam, thank you. But when will he be back?" Eva asked Amy.

Amy crinkled her brows. "He's gone. To London. Why?"

"What do you need to discuss with him, girl?" Aunt March intervened.

Eva blinked. "I denyed The Duke of Manchester my hand in marriage," she said bluntly.

Amy's eyes widened as she choked on her tea while Aunt March gaped at her.

"You-why ever so?!"

Eva pursed her lips. "Because I believe in love and he was a poison to me."

"EVA!" Amy screamed, her voice watery.

"Yes?" Eva walked down the stairs, pulling on her shawl.

Amy looked at her with teary eyes. "Beth is gone. She's dead."

Eva immediately lost all colour in her face. "What?"

Amy sobbed. "She's dead. Beth's dead!"

But instead of answering, Eva's face immediately drained of colour as she crumpled to the ground, the shock all too much for her.

"EVA! MICHAEL, EVA COLLAPSED!"
