I didn't end up going back to school on Friday because I couldn't be bothered and I just faked being sick so dad didn't make me. The weekend was pretty boring and eventually it was Monday.

The walk to school was loud and I decided just to put my headphones in because I couldn't be bothered listening to the boys talking about football for one more minute or I was going to lose my mind.

Once we arrived at school everyone began staring at me, like just blatantly staring at me. Why the fuck were they all staring at me? What did I do? Do I have a period stain? Oh shit do I have a period stain? I turn around to try and look at my butt and there's nothing there so what could it be?

Ohhhhhh that's right I beat up Jason. But why are they only staring at me and not all of the boys? They're probably all shocked that a little tiny girl managed to beat up a boy. Ah I love sexism.

All of the boys look at me with concern like I'm about to flip out and have an anxiety attack, and usually I probably would but I for some reason feel fine, I'm too tired to care. Instead I just roll my eyes and keep walking.

First period was science which couldn't have been worse because it was my Sophomore class so the stares were even worse. Luckily for me, Cormac was also in this class and as much as he claims to 'hate' me I knew he would sort out the people staring.

Cormac and his friend Blake (who I need to keep remembering is not Josh) walk in a few minutes late. Cormac stands at the front of the class and glares at everyone staring at me and they instantly stop.

He then walks past me and points the middle finger at me before taking a seat next to Blake at the back. I breathe out softly, "Balance is restored."

Benji gives me a weird look saying, "What do you mean?"

I whisper to him, "Well Cormac just did me a favour by getting everyone to stop staring and then he pointed the finger at me. So he was nice to me and then he wasn't, therefore, balance is restored."

Benji just laughs and shakes his head, "Would it really be that weird if he just did something nice for you."

"Yes Benjamin, yes it would be."

He huffs while chuckling, "You guys have a really weird relationship."

"That we do" I say also chuckling softly.

The class was silently doing work so I guess our teacher must've heard us talking, "Benji and Charlie stop flirting and do the work." She says whilst laughing to herself like she had just caught us flirting and exposed us to the whole class.

Benji went bright red and started getting agitated that all attention was now on him. Everyone in the class was whispering and laughing at the fact that we're kind of siblings so they knew we weren't flirting. I can definitely hear Cormac making gagging noises and also laughing the loudest which is a very rare sound to hear from Cormac.

I could've just told her we were step siblings and moved on with life but I would rather have some fun, "I find it interesting that when you see a boy and a girl simply talking you assume that we're flirting." I say with a deadpanned look on my face as I raise my eyebrows questionably.

She just stutters so I continue, "It's just that I know for a fact if I was having that same conversation with a girl you wouldn't have made that comment, would you?"

She looks surprised that I spoke back and just says, "No I wouldn't because it's less likely that you would be flirting with a girl"

"Why would it be less likely?" I say and give her a look that says 'You're fucked now aren't you, have fun answering that without being offensive'.
