I turn around looking at myself in the mirror. I think I look pretty okay. Feyi picked this outfit for me saying it would fit me and she was right

The white halter top clunged to my body showing of part of my flat belly while the skinny blue ripped jeans looked nice with my white sneakers.

I pack my hair into a bun again so my mum won't see the hair. A smile appears on my face when I remember how they woke me up this morning

"D, wake up" Feyi said

"Feyi, what are you doing in my dream?, Get out" I murmured pulling the blanket over my head

"See this girl o" I heard Bridget say

Wait. Why is Bridget in my dream too?

"Abeg, wake up joor" Nmeso tapped me. I sat up immediately realizing that it wasn't a dream and the girls were actually in my room

"What are you guys doing here?" I squinted my eyes

"Jamb question" Feyi smiled "Happy birthday joor. Stand up and goan have your bath"

Bridget and Nmeso said. Yemisi wasn't  here. Thank God, me I can't handle that witch

"Thanks guys" I smiled

"Goan have your bath and dress up, the guys are waiting downstairs, your mum refused to let them come up to your room" Bridget informed me and she left with Nmeso

"Better wear the clothes I chose for you, Maxwell is around too"

"Ehn?, Who invited him?"

"Me naw, he's your friend, isn't he?"

I mentally groaned. Feyi just loved annoying me

"Oya stop blushing, just be fast and come downstairs"

"Are you mad?, Who's blushing with you?" I threw a pillow at her playfully

She laughed shaking her head and leaving the room

I use a little lipgloss and the waterproof mascara I borrowed (stole) from Feyi.

'Omo, I look hot' I smile to myself before leaving the room

"Oya o, let's assemble" Feyi more or less screams, this girl can shout for Africa "It's time to give Dieko her birthday gifts" She announces

Who sent her to be the MC of my party?, It's even good, she should sha not expect payment, she should just know she's doing charity work

"Okay, I'm going first" Nmeso says

"Here" She gives me a box smiling "Happy birthday"

I collect the box from her and open it...it's a selfie stick, something I know I won't use because I really don't take pictures but anyhow sha. I plaster a smile on my face

"Thank you so much, I really needed this" I lie. What?, Should I tell her I don't want the gift?

"I'm glad you like it"

The next is from Bridget, it's a large box with different stuff in it... first is a pair of Pink Ugg boots, then a plain pink t-shirt, then a pair of black bum shorts and finally a really nice camera...wow, she must have spent money on this thing o

I thank her smiling meaning it this time

The next gift is from Lanre, it's a mobile battery charger, a pair of headphones and a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot device. This boy has sense abeg, these devices will definitely come in handy, I thank him again

Then Timi, he hands me a wrapped box, he's the only person that has wrapped his own so far. I tear it open anxiously. I almost fall down when I see what it is, the carton clearly shows it's an...iPhone 11 Pro Max. Just shoot me

"I can't take this" I hand him back the phone

"Why not?"

"This thing is expensive, where did you get the money to buy it?"

"My dad wanted to buy me a new iPhone so I just told him I wanted to give it to a friend instead"

I gulp uneasily, even my parents have never given me an iPhone for my birthday even though I've been begging them since, its Tecno Camon 12 air that I've been managing since

"Are you sure you want me to have this?" I ask him

"Yes naw, stop asking me" He chuckles

"Thank you so much" I hug him, he returns the hug and we pull away after a few minutes. I can't believe I have an iPhone. I can just scream- ah no, lemme not scream, I'll look mad

Then next is Maxwell who gives me a giant pink teddy bear, I smile broadly. How did he remember that I've always wanted a teddy bear?

Okay, I know this seems weird because I'm sixteen, but ever since I was a child, my mum had banned me from having teddy bears, I don't know what's with Yoruba mothers and their feeling that every single thing is devilish, she sha felt teddy bears weren't of God, can you believe that?, So she never bought them for us. I even remember one time when my lesson teacher gave me a Teddy bear as a birthday gift for my seventh birthday, my mum took it away and burnt it, she then said that when I turned fifteen, I could have a Teddy bear if I wanted but when I turned fifteen last year, there wasn't any point, teddy bears didn't come cheap so where was I supposed to find money to buy a teddy bear so I just forgot about it but I told Maxwell everything like when we were in Primary 5, I didn't know he'll still remember, like seriously, it's been five years

Then Feyi is the last but not the least because she gives me a Personalized jewelry. It's a necklace which has a 'grace' neatly inscribed (Grace is my English name)

"You're the best cousin ever" I murmur as she helps me put on the necklace

"I already know naw, you don't have to remind me"

I hiss. Typical Feyi

I get other gifts too from Feyi's brothers, her mum and dad, my mum, grandma, Ayo, even Dami, that stingy girl, but I was still a little sad that my Dad couldn't even call at least, I mean, I know he was angry with my mum but I'm his daughter, his blood, he couldn't have forgotten my birthday, could he?

But even at that, as I have my bath that night, I cant but think that I have the best friends ever, excluding Yemisi of course, that one is a witch, though I can't help but think that I forgot to do something...

This chapter was kinda boring 😣. I know and I apologize.

My mum is sha like Dieko's mum😂💔. She thinks teddy bears aren't good, and when I was seven, she actually burnt the teddy bear my lesson teacher gave me but my mum is sha different because she didn't say I can have one when I turn fifteen 😂😂💔, she hates them

Question of the chapter: What is the best birthday gift you've ever received?

My Answer: Honestly, I don't even know, because my friends are so special that all the gifts they give me on my birthdays are so good, and my parents do not give birthday gifts, I can't remember them giving me a birthday gift since I was like ten😂
