"Your phone has been ringing since, abeg come and pick it"
"Who's it?" I wipe my wet face with the towel I'm tying

"Wait, why is the call going through?" I stand with arms akimbo
"Huh?" She feigns ignorance, this girl thinks she's smart
"My data hasn't be on since last week, my phone hasn't been on sef, who switched it on?"
"Oya" She pauses "I needed it, I'm sorry iye?, Just take"
I hiss collecting the phone from her, so annoying
I press the green button and press the phone to my ear
"Hey guys" I smile even though they can't see me
"You need cane" I recognize Ife's voice "We've been calling you since Saturday"
Gosh, I knew I forgot something, I forgot to call Dorothy and Ife
"I'm so sorry, my phone has been switched off" I apologize
"It's fine, we were calling to wish you happy birthday"
"Thanks guys, thank you"

"Did you talk to Akin like I asked you to?" She asks
"Ummm...not really, he wasn't picking my calls"

"I didn't do anything" I lie "I don't know what's up with him" I really need to go for serious deliverance in church, how can I be lying like this?

"Okay, call him now, I have things to do so I have to go, I'll call you back this night sha, make sure your phone is on"
