Since having tracked down Klaus and Allison, the only one left to find who she knew for a fact was stuck in the past too, was Luther and Cass was hard at work trying to track him down.

"Hey," Elliot said softly, walking over to where Cass was furiously at work on the couch, "You look like you need a break."

"I don't need a break," she said, pulling her hair back out of her eyes and blinking hard to keep herself awake and focused, "I could go for a coffee through."

"Um, I was actually thinking we could take a break? A proper break," Elliot stumbled, "You know, we haven't had a lead in a few months so why not take one evening off?"

Cass didn't seem to have heard Elliot as she was still staring intently at the newspaper, biting her lower lip and mumbling some of the words as she read to keep herself focused. Elliot couldn't help but smile at her.

"They're showing Kiss of the Vampire in the theatre across the road," he continued hopefully, "I thought we could check it out?" he asked after a few moments of silence as he tried to summon the courage to ask Cass to the movies, "You know, to learn about earth culture," he added quickly, just in case Cass didn't feel the same way about him. He didn't want to look like a fool in front of her.

"Do you have movie theatres where you're from?" Elliot asked awkwardly as Cass still hadn't answered, "Do you know what a movie is?"

"Of course I know what a movie is, Elliot," Cass snapped, looking up from the newspaper at last. She clenched her jaw and took a deep breath, squeezing her eyes shut and trying not to look as stressed as she felt, "I'm not stupid," she added quietly as she returned her attention back to scouring through the newspaper.

"Of course not!" Elliot scrambled, "I didn't mean to- to insinuate that you were..."

Elliot trailed off. Cass wasn't listening to him. She had started working more and more and more. Since finding those first two family members, it was like she had new hope. Hope that the rest of her family were out there somewhere waiting for her to find them. Like they were counting on her. And Cass was devoting more and more of her time to tracking down the rest of her family.

"So...theatre's a no go then?" Elliot asked once more, just in case.

Cass didn't even look up at him.

"I'll make some coffee."

Elliot lent against the wall as he sat at the small kitchen table, waiting for the coffee to brew while Cass carried on searching through the stack of papers for any sign of her family. From where he was sat, Elliot had a clear view of Cass. He couldn't help but watch her as she worked. He knew how creepy it would look if Cass looked up and caught him staring at her. And he didn't want to come across as a creep, especially not to her. But he just couldn't bring himself to look away from her. She was incredible! A real life alien! And a nice one. A really, really nice one.
