MAX

"AAAHHH!"

"Hello to you too." I said with a look. "Just spit it out already."

"What the hell?! You're alive?! I'm so confused... What's happening? I mean... You... I saw... Uh... please come in?"

"You sure this is the right guy?" Mars whispered as he leaned over to me.

"Yup, that's him. David Bluewater."

"Doctor; please... uh... come in."

Dr. Bluewater held the door open for all of us to trail in as he watched me with deep concern and confusion. He closed and locked the door and then turned to me.

"I don't understand what's going on here. You died. I was the one who declared you dead... I mean..."

"It's a really complicated story." I said, suddenly feeling a tickle in my throat. I coughed into my elbow. "Anyway, basically, the aliens cloned me for procreation purposes since it was Round 1 and used my real body's consciousness to control it. Technically when I 'died' it was because they severed my consciousness from coming back."

Dr. Bluewater stared at me with wide blue eyes and then slowly pointed at me and then poked my shoulder, making sure I was real. I frowned and he pulled back, running his fingers through his gray hair.

"This is unreal... I mean..."

"It's true, Dr. Bluewater." Mars said. "I found Max's body on the ship where they were kind of storing him for later use. Kasai kept feeling drawn to it and so did I. And then when I got electrocuted-" He suddenly shut his mouth.

Mrs. Holt looked at Mars with wide eyes as Mr. Holt blinked rapidly.

"What?!" she yelled.

"Nothing."

"Marsden, what the hell is this about being electrocuted?" Mr. Holt said.

"Uh... occupational hazard?"

"For what occupation?!" he yelled.

"Uh... hero...ing...?"

Mrs. Holt turned back to me and I stepped back from her glare.

"You did it again! You made my son go through such horrible things-"

"No! Wait, Mom, stop! Max didn't know anything that was going on. He's been stuck on that ship for like two years (technically) and he had no idea about that."

"I'm just as shocked as you are." I said.

Mars made a face at me and I realized I accidentally made a pun in the middle of a serious situation. It was kind of funny though...

"David, what's all this racket..." a woman's voice said from another room.

Dr. Bluewater made a face and walked back there, meeting someone at the door, who was shuffling in in a robe.

"We have some patients/guests."

"Well can you tell them to keep it down a little? I'm almost on the brink of that weird enzyme that we collected from Max Taylor-" The tall red head stopped in her tracks when she saw me. "Max Taylor?"

"Hi..."

"What the hell is going on here? I feel like I'm missing a completely different chapter that everyone else has gone through. Can someone please elaborate on what is going on?" Mr. Holt said angrily.

"And you are?" Dr. Bluewater said.

"Tim Holt, Mars' father."

"Ah, I see... So, you weren't here a year or so ago?"
