KASAI

I stood in the darkness of my bedroom, looking out at the passing stars. We weren't even close to the Milky Way and I wasn't even trying to stall them. This was getting exhausting and annoying all at the same time. I heard the door open but I didn't turn to it. I hated being here...

"Kasai?"

"What?"

"Why are you in the dark?"

"Because that's how my life feels right now. What do you want, Zylith?" I asked, turning around to her.

Zylith watched me for a moment and walked next to me, pushing her dirty blonde hair behind her ears.

"I wanted to ask how you were doing but it looks like I don't really need you to answer... You definitely take after Max in that regard... the brooding and such-"

"You're making small talk and you suck, Captain. What do you want?"

"That's seriously what I was wanting to know: how are you doing?"

"How do you think I'm fucking doing, Zylith!" I snarled.

"Language, kid."

"Do I look like a kid to you anymore?!" I screamed, finally looking at her fully. "I'm stuck on this ship having to deal with a lunatic king who tortured me, my father, and my uncle into submission, a jealous asshole who got caught in his own plan and keep breaking out of his fucking prison to screw around with my father, and not to mention that my poor father is suffering from whatever that asshole injected into him. Not to mention the fact that because we are trying to slow down the King from invading Earth, it just makes my dad have to suffer even more! So yes, I'm a little pissed off and angry about where I'm at at the moment." I ran my fingers through my hair. "And, I'm really pissed off about the fact that I look like this!"

"Like what?" she said softly.

"Like this... Like I'm my father's brother instead of his son! I don't like looking like this but I can't go back to how I was. My body won't let me because the King fucked me over. I want to go home. I want to be with my dad and my grandparents and my uncle... you can come too."

"Is that so?" Zylith said with a smirk. "And be your mommy?" she said sarcastically.

"Would that be so bad?"

"I highly doubt Max is into me now, knowing that I was a little bit a part of the whole scheme and I was the one who was here with him on the ship."

"Did you cause all those bad dreams and hurt him?"

"Of course not."

"Then you're not part of the problem. You're part of the freedom. You gave Max freedom, whether he was a clone or not, which in turn saved me. By loving him, you made him see that he wasn't such a freak. By bringing Uncle Mars onto the ship, you found my dad and you also helped me... So... in the long run, you've done everything a mom would do. I think." I said with a nervous laugh.

Zylith looked uncomfortable. "It's odd..."

"You're saying that to me, the kid who is technically only a year old, looks like a teenager, but rules over you by a long shot... but I can tell you love my dad. I've only wanted him to be happy and I know that I ruined his life..."

"Stop." Zylith grabbed my hands. "My prince, you need to realize that no one blames you for anything that's happening. You do have a right to be upset, because everything around Max and you has been manipulated and squished into a mold that neither of you will ever fit in. It's like trying to put your foot in a glove..."
