16. Southside Transferal

Toni's POV:
Little did we know we were walking into 3rd day of our last week at Southside High. I had already finished my final cheerleading practice on Monday.
"Miss Topaz, you were absent yesterday." The teacher stated
"Yes." I replied
"Is there atleast a reasoning?" The teacher questioned
"Nope. Just didn't want to come to school." I replied, making a few of the students quietly laugh
"Your parents will be receiving a phonecall this evening." The teacher replied
"Alright then.." I trailed off and sat down, the room was barley lit. I wondered if the teachers even got paid.

Friday (after school)

As I sat on one of the steps with Jughead I heard a muffled speaker announcement, I was sat outside so I couldn't hear it but shortly after Fangs and Sweetpea burst out the door.
"We're moving!" Sweetpea said with excitement
"Yeah! To Riverdale High!" Fangs said, matching his tone
"What!" Jughead and I said in union
"Starting Monday Southside High is closing. Bought by some Lodge dude. The students are being split, us and about 150 others are going to Riverdale High!" Sweetpea announced
"You're joking" Jughead laughed, sounding excited
"That was way too specific to be a joke, now we've gotta go tell our significant Northside others!" Fangs gestured at Jughead and I
"Fangs it's supposed to be close friends only!" I said
"Right. Sorry. I mean just Jughead and I, and who knows.. Maybe Sweetpea will find someone?" Fangs winked

After arriving home to my trailer I immediately called Cheryl.
"Hey, how soon can you get to Pops?"
"20 minutes, maybe sooner.. why? Something important?"
"Yeah. Exciting not terrifying though."
"Alright see you in 20."
I grabbed my helmet and headed off to Pops.

I waited for a few minutes before Cheryl walked in and came over to our usual booth.
"Well this booth has good memories, but that's not the point. What's up babe?" Cheryl asked, I smiled at the nickname.
"Nothing much.. just Southside High shutting down." I joked
"Are you serious!" Cheryl screamed
"You can ask anyone else!" I replied, she then leaned over for a quick, excitement, peck on the lips.
"This is great! Apart from.. my mother. Also not wanting to display a public relationship.." Cheryl said
"We'll get to see each other more. We just have to think of something." I responded
"Hm. Yeah. I wonder what the Vixens will think.." Cheryl thought

"How do you think they'll react?"
"I don't know, we won't tell them yet. Don't you think?" Cheryl suggested.
"Yeah but how? Southside High is closing and I don't know how I'm going to look at you without having heart eyes every time I see you."
"Well you're going to have to. And also, I think I have an idea.." Cheryl continued.

"A what!" I questioned
"We'd let everyone who knows in on it. It would be fun! We'd also get to see each other more, and maintain popularity." Cheryl said
"And everything we say we've already planned?" I asked
"Well most of it. We can improvise some stuff, but it'll mean nothing. And skip school in boring classes for secret dates." Cheryl suggested
"Alright fine, it sounds entertaining. The dates also seem nice too." I agreed. "Also I know you're at Kevin's and all but would you wanna come over? We could watch some other movies or start a series of some sort.. it's also a Friday night."
"Sounds good TT. I'll just have to get my convertible back first. Then you can come around and pick me up." Cheryl nodded and stood up to leave.
