Faked Rivalry (Choni)

18. The Beginning

Previously (Toni's POV): "Hey babe.." Cheryl trailed off from the conversation
"Yeah?" I asked
"Oh nothing. Just wanted to say that I love you." Cheryl blurted out, her eyes widening after she had said it. Realising I hadn't said it back yet she quickly said "Uhhh that just blurted out I get if you're not ready to say it back yet and it's fine but-" I interrupted her with a quick peck on the lips so she wouldn't get too distracted from driving.
"It's fine. I love you too." I said, like it was a casual thing. Cheryl smiled
"Good. I was about to say but I do mean it though" Cheryl laughed.

Cheryl's POV:
After explaining what Toni and I did and said and listening to Kevin freak out I received a phonecall from Thistlehouse's home phone, after blocking my mother's personal phone.

"Ugh. Forgot to block this one. What is it?"
"Cheryl Marjorie Blossom why did I receive a phonecall from the youngest Forsythe saying you have been sneaking around with some girl for the past couple weeks?"
"May I ask what you're going to do about it? And why he told you?"
"He told me because apparently it's revenge and also you know what I'm capable of."
"Of course it's revenge" I rolled my eyes "Anyways I really don't, last time you tried something I'm pretty sure I was the one who burned down a house."
"Oh really, I think I know this girls name. She precious to you? You wouldn't want to hurt her family, or worse, her."
"Well mother tell me, who is this girl and who's her family?"
"Antoinette Topaz, Southside scum, Serpent & Southside it girl. Her family? Her mother was Samantha Topaz who seems to have passed but her father Antonio seems to be staying right here in Riverdale."
"What?"
"You see, don't let me catch you again. Bye now!"

I let out a loud grunt. This meant I definitely had to go with the faked rivalry plan with Toni. Kevin immediately came rushing in.
"What's wrong?" He asked
"My mother ruining things." I explained everything to him
"Wow. She really is the devil incarnated." He laughed and I didn't laugh back
"Yeah it's really not even a joke at this point she just is." I sighed and called Toni

"Toni, do you remember the plan I explained to you?"
"Yeah, why?"
"We have to change it a bit."
I explained what we would do instead
"Alright.. why so soon?"
"I'll explain it to you tomorrow."
"Okay. Bye"
"Bye." I  hung up

"That last bit was cute but when were you going to tell us this plan?" Kevin asked
"Tomorrow. We said keep it secret but we were going to tell you all so you could be involved." I said
"Should I tell Fangs?" Kevin responded
"Sure. Tell him to speak to Toni and ask if she wants to tell Sweetpea aswell, if she says yes we'll tell Archie."
"And Archie tells.." Kevin gestured for me to answer
"Veronica and Betty. That's it."

Monday

Toni's POV:
After telling Sweetpea Cheryl and I's plan and Cheryl asking for my permission to tell Archie who then would tell Veronica and Betty it was time for the first day at Riverdale High. I drove past Southside High briefly to check if it had in-fact closed, it had. So I continued following my friends to the Northside.

"So this is really happening huh.." I said
"Yup. It's a win-win situation to be honest." Fangs replied
"Maybe finally I'll find someone" Sweetpea laughed
"Don't get too far ahead of yourself" Jughead joked.

We all walked in and Cheryl winked at me before putting on a serious face.
"What do we have here?" She asked in her mean tone similar to when I had first met her
"Don't remember our meeting at the football game? Toni. Topaz." I replied
"I couldn't care less what your name was. As soon as another dump of a school opens you'll be moving out of this one and into that it." Cheryl stated
"Why's that? Can't handle a challenge?" I responded
"Oh please, is the challenge who can be the most irrelevant?" she rolled her eyes
"I guess if it is then you'll be winning" I scoffed
"No. Listen.. no trash-mouth, ragamuffin, serpent-" Cheryl was cut off my Principal Wetherbee
"That's enough! Miss Blossom as you know I've assigned Veronica to show the Southsiders around but I think you could take this group don't you think?"
"Absolutely no-" Cheryl briefly walked off before he stepped in front of her
"You're excused from your first class. Miss Topaz if anything goes wrong be sure to tell me" Wetherbee smiled and I smiled back. Cheryl sighed and the bell rung, the crowds around us got to class. Veronica begun the tour for the rest of the new Southsiders while Cheryl just took us to the student lounge.
"I'm glad that worked." I sighed in relief
"I know! It was really hard being mean to you again, I hope you know I don't mean any of it." Cheryl said to me
"I would hope so. I love you babe." I kissed her and she kissed me back
"Love you too" she smiled
"Stop this is too cute!" Fangs said
"I know!" Sweetpea replied
"Sure.." Jughead slightly grinned
"Aww even Jughead ships it!" Fangs laughed
"Anyways why'd we start the fake rivalry this early? Weren't we supposed to date then fake breakup." I questioned
"My mother. She knows you and your father." Cheryl stated
"My father?" I said, confused
"Yeah. I don't know what she'll do, she did kill my father.." Cheryl replied
"I've never even met my father, did she say where he was?"
"Right here in Riverdale" Cheryl stated
"No way.." I began processing the newly leant information
"I can't let her do anything to you either TT, she drove Heather's family out of town." Cheryl said
"Alright. I understand then, thanks Cher." I replied and she just smiled
"I know where he is." Jughead announced
"My dad?" I asked
"Yeah. We found him a while back accidentally and didn't think he was related to you.." Jughead said
"Wow. I won't go see him, if he wanted to see me or my mum he would've atleast shown up to the funeral." I stated and Cheryl hugged me
"Good point Tones. Let's move on now I guess.." Sweetpea replied
"Yeah like Cheryl, Jug, you actually going to show us this place?" Fangs laughed
"Nope. It's a free period technically. Jug pretty much knows this place, you'll get used to it." Cheryl said
"Right." Jughead responded
