30. Third Time's A Charm

Previously (Cheryl's POV): "So..?" Veronica looked at me
"What?" I questioned
"Aren't you going to say anything.. about..?" She asked
"No! I'm not. Okay." I snapped
"Cher-" Betty tried sympathising
"Stop! I'm tired of this! Toni says one little thing to me and everyone acts like I've been defeated. For god sake Betty you're really trying to pity me right now."
"You know I didn't mean it like that." Betty reasoned
"I hoped. But I'm right about the rest. If Toni's going to be like this, so will I" I announced
"Like what?" Josie asked
"Rivals."

Veronica's POV:
It was now the morning, we had school today and got a partially good sleep. Good enough I'd say. Betty, Josie and I looked around for Cheryl and noticed she wasn't there.

Cheryl's POV:
I was at Riverdale High, 30 minutes before anyone even started arriving so I prepared my plans and then waiting for everyone. Once they had I arrived I met up with Veronica, Betty & Josie quickly. Explaining I went to go thank Mr Keller for having me over. I then told them I'll be right back as I went to go and talk to Tina and Ginger.
"Alright ladies." I began
"Well you haven't pulled us here just to talk about cheer have you?" Ginger asked
"No, but remember practise is still going ahead on Friday." They both nodded "Anyways, I need you two to return a favour."
"Okay.." Tina said
"I don't think you'll mind anyways, listen all I need you to do is spread the gossip that Toni Topaz is.."

Toni's POV:
"A CHEATING HOEBAG?" Fangs read
"Oh cmon it's probably just a joke." Josie reassured Sweetpea
"Scroll down.." I instructed
"Recently Toni Topaz has accused her ex-girlfriend Cheryl Blossom on cheating on her. When really she was the cheater. Cheating on Cheryl with no other then the scrawny boy Jughead Jones! It's believed she had even told Cheryl and his girlfriend Betty Cooper that they had only kissed. When in reality it was a secret hookup. While they were dating!" The article read

"JUGHEAD?" Betty yelled and a couple record noises were heard
"Betty-"
"TELL ME THIS ISN'T TRUE" She looked furious
"BETTY STOP-" I was interrupted
"I WANT TO HEAR IT FROM HIM TONI." She replied
"IT-" Jughead could barley get a word out
"SCREW YOU JUG! GO BLOW YOUR BEST FRIEND AGAIN." Betty stormed off.
Moments later the video was uploaded to a separate article used as proof.
As I opened my locker to get my books so I could run after Betty and get to class red paint exploded all over me. Leaving a dozen snap noises to be heard. Sweetpea, Fangs & Josie barricading me while Jughead and Veronica went after Betty. Questions like
"Why are you supporting the person who cheated on close friend McCoy?"
"Why would you do it Toni!"
And comments like
"Little slut."
"Probably isn't even into girls."
"She chose the sewer baby over the northside princess?"

Only one person could've done this, as I pushed my way through the guys towards to bathroom to clean myself.

Cheryl's POV:
"Great job girls, your debt to me is paid" I smiled devilishly
"No problem, it was actually pretty fun anyways." Tina said
"Yeah, I'll be happy to do it again" Ginger replied
"Same." Tina smiled
Veronica slammed open the doors
"CHERYL!" She yelled
"That's our cue to leave.." Tina and Ginger ran out

"Yes?" I asked Veronica
"Did you write that?" She questioned
"No I did not." I answered honestly, but with the same smile on my face
"I know you did. I know that look." She responded
"Well I didn't, Tina and Ginger did." I faked sounding innocent
"Any idea who told them to?" She asked, annoyed
"Nope not at all." I had a fake high pitch voice on.
"Okay well if you're not going to admit it just know the damage you've caused. Betty and Jughead will probably break up, Toni's.. who knows." Veronica explained
"Is that supposed to change anything.. doesn't really seem too big of a deal to me." I said
"They've been dating for years Cheryl. You know that! And you know what it was like after you lost Toni, think about how your cousin will feel. You're living there aswell. And you being the cause of this. When you know if it's true or not, well.. just think about it." Veronica replied
"I'll be there for Betty. Toni deserves this anyway." I commented
"This is beyond what she deserves. You've caused it to affect other people then just Toni. Why couldn't you have just had some basic roast battle! Not publishing it online!" Veronica exclaimed
"Because Veronica. If Toni's anything like me, she'll expect she's in charge. Which is exactly what her speech should've proved to you. Now I've got the upperhand. And look, she'll probably move onto something very soon." I smiled, thinking about the paint I planted in Toni's locker
"What would she possibly care about mo-" Veronica got cut off by a very loud
"CHERYL BLOSSOM!!" Screech from Toni

"Jesus Toni you sound like an eagle. Oh! What happened to you?" I referenced the red paint stains all over her clothes
"Oh I don't know Cheryl. Just a couple things." Toni replied, anger lashing through her voice
"I've seen the article, terrible isn't it." I frowned
"Yeah.. really FUCKING TERRIBLE" she screamed
"It'll be alright.." I offered the sympathy she didn't deserve
"SHUT UP CHERYL! I KNOW YOU DID ALL THIS." Toni yelled
"Why would I do this?" I emphasised the I
"Oh I really don't know, maybe the fact that we're ex-girlfriends?" She said sarcastically
"If I can recall you were the one who seemed to be more mad a me.." I tried looking confused
"Ohh you bitch.. I know what you're doing." Toni replied
"What am I doing?" I broke the act and returned to a devilish smile
"OK THATS IT" She reached over to try and grab my neck before Veronica tackled her
"Toni. You were doing well with words, listen. You got this." Veronica said
"Ok.. well she's just going to continue that damn innocent act so you know what Blossom. I'll give you something better then red paint." Toni walked out of the gym.
Veronica shot me a furrowed eyebrow look before leaving, presumably to go find Betty.
I just went to class. Smiling at my actions.

Toni's POV:
After a huge day I got home to my trailer and had quite a long rest before getting up to start making phone calls.
"Peaches"
"Toni, what's up? Another Serpent meeting?"
"No, just I need you to rally up the girls."
"Will do.. what for?"
"Well.."

The next day (Friday)

As me and the Vixens walked into the gym for Friday's practice we noticed a couple of other girls there, including Toni.
"Toni, Friday's are reserved for Vixen practice." I said
"Yeah well I spoke to Mr. Wetherbee and asked if I could join the Vixens-"
"Absolutely not. Now get moving." I interrupted
"Yeah that's what he thought you would say. So he said I could start my own team. And we'd be sharing the field and gym." Toni smiled
"That has to be a joke, there only needs to be one cheer team." I laughed
"Well if you're going to discriminate.." she replied
"Discriminate? Did you even get a proper education at that school because discrimination relates to race and in this situation it's a matter of the team being full." I replied
"Well yes racial discrimination is a thing, but I did not say that about the Vixens. I know that the team isn't full. You just don't want me in it, discriminating." Toni said
I hate when she's right, well I don't hate it when it's not used to offend me but in this case it is. And I hate it.
I let out a loud scream.
"WHATEVER! Just let us have atleast 3 quarters of the area." I responded
"Half each." Toni now had my devilish smile all across her face. Taking one of my most important things almost away from me, cheerleading.

It may have sounded stupid but throughout my years at Riverdale High I had been the captain. Someone they would follow, someone they would respect when my own mother wouldn't. And after Jason, there was Archie. Now he was gone, so was Kevin and now was Toni. The only things I had depending on now was cheerleading, and friends I wouldn't have depended on before. And after everything, I'll do it all to..
