29: Scorpion's Den

"You want to target the newly opened bar na malayo sa bayan, tama ba?" tanong ni Rosemarie. Gio looked up. Tumungo ito sa dalaga.

"Someone has done her homework," puri ni Ali.

"Sir Gio, hindi madali ang mga ganitong misyon para sa amin. We need resources." wika ni Justine. Sa sala ay nakaupo ang mga Red Ladies, the original ones, ani Aria. Aria was surprised to see all of them came despite their busy schedules.

"I could take care of what you need." sagot ni Gio. Sa tabi niya ay nakatayo si Ali, Maki at Charmaine.

"Pero ipangako n'yo sa akin, walang masasaktan. Uuwi tayo ng kumpleto." sagot ni Gio. Nagkatinginan ang Red Ladies bago sumagot si C.C., "That's always part of our plan, Sir Gio."

C.C. was eyeing Maki on the distance, of course Gio noticed. Napansin naman ni Aria ang mga mata ni Ali na nakabantay. Si Maki palang ang walang inuuwing babae sa magkakapatid, pansin ni Aria.

"Would you like a taste?" tanong ni C.C. matapos lumapit kay Maki. Masama na tuloy ang tingin ni Ali kay Maki sa isang sulok.

"I would love to, kaso my brothers and I, we don't share." sagot ni Maki at ngumiti sa kanya. Aria really wants to pull C.C.'s away from Maki right now. Nagpipigil lang siya. She's always like that, playing around with guys. Baka mag-away pa iyong magkapatid. Gio is just watching them.

And C.C. really? At a time like this?

"The first twelve red ladies and the Trinity, this is the best of us." nagsalita si Aria para mabasag ang tensyon. Gio considered this.

"But I'm the best," wika ni C.C. Nakatayo na ito sa harap ni Gio. Aria definitely wants to pull C.C. away right now. Gio looked at the plunging neckline and the cleavage in between that. Gio looked up at her face. She's wearing a red lipstick like she always do at Aria's office. But even she can't daze him.

"Best?" pagdududa niya kay C.C. She smiled back seductively.

"Cassandra Cornelia, I would appreciate it if you don't block my view." wika ni Gio.

Looking straight ahead, Gio could see Aria has a blank expression. C.C. looked back and saw her best friend figuring out why.

"Hmp, KJ." kumento ni C.C. Pinigilan ni Aria na matawa. Gio is a serious man, even C.C. can't shake him.

"Aria, relax. I'm just testing him. He's all yours." wika ni C habang pabalik sa tabi ni Aria. Aria just rolled her eyes and the other ladies just watched.

"I think we're up against a powerful man," umpisa ni Gio. "My brothers and I could fight, I guess we might be useful for this mission."

Now that got everyone listening.

"Pwede namin pahiramin ang training grounds sa inyo," wika ni Ali.

"Ali, we haven't opened that for years," tutol ni Gio. Nagkatinginan ang Red Ladies, including the Trinity.

"Pero it'll be useful now. We have to train. Kasi batid kong hindi ka naman araw-araw humahawak ng baril. Baka kinakalawang na shooting skills mo, Kuya."

Gio considered this.

"Train? Na naman?" reklamo ni Maki.

"Maki, if you want to do this, you have to train." seryosong sagot ni Gio.

"Fine!" tipid na sagot ni Maki.

"Training grounds? Show us!" excited na tanong ni Grace. Aria wanted to face palm but she's not going to do that in front of Gio. Minata ni Aria si Grace pero hindi siya pinansin nito. Grace, the youngest can't help but act like a kid sometimes.
