ACT 1, SCENE 4

MONTAGE: Booker leads Clementine through Mainstreet Jonesboro, GA. They head north and merge onto I-75 heading to Atlanta. When they reach Atlanta they merge onto I-20 heading west. They leave Georgia and head into Alabama. They pass through Oxford, AL. Outside of Birmingham, AL, they merge onto interstate 459, and then back onto I-20 on the other side of the city. They pass through Tuscaloosa, AL. They leave Alabama and head into Mississippi. They pass through Meridian, MS. They pass through Jackson, MS. They pass over the Mississippi Bridge into Louisiana. They pass through Monroe, LA and stop at a pilot Truck stop to fill up on gas. They pass through Shreveport, LA. They leave Louisiana and head into Texas. They pass Marshall, Longview, and Tyler exits before getting off of I-20 in Canton, TX

BOOKER DARVILLE

(on his CB radio)

Say, Snow Angel, Whatcha in the mood for?

CLEMENTINE SNOW

(on CB)

Hell, Book, I don't know. You pick something.

BOOKER DARVILLE

(on CB)

What's the point? Anything I say, you're just gonna say you don't want it.

CLEMENTINE SNOW

(on CB)

Up yours, Sonuva Bandit.

BOOKER DARVILLE

(on CB)

You gonna have to pick something, Snow, We got things to discuss and not a lot of time.

CLEMENTINE SNOW

(on CB)

Oh... just pull off at the Cafe over there.

BOOKER DARVILLE

(Laughing, on CB)

Booker pulls his truck into the parking lot and waits for Clementine to pull in after him. Booker goes over and opens the door and offers Clementine a hand. Clementine takes his hand and jumps down next to him. Booker admires her parking as they walk towards the cafe.

BOOKER DARVILLE

Look at you, putting most truckers to shame.

CLEMENTINE SNOW

(Laughing)

Shut up.

Beat.

BOOKER DARVILLE

You do realize that you're on the curb, right?

Clementine punches him in the shoulder. She points to where he's parked.

CLEMENTINE SNOW

You're not in the lines, dumbass.

BOOKER DARVILLE

Yes, I am.

CLEMENTINE SNOW

No, you aren't. You're parked on the line!

BOOKER DARVILLE

On the line ain't over the line, sweetie.

She punches his shoulder again as he grabs the door to the cafe to holds it open for her.

CLEMENTINE SNOW

Don't call me sweetie, jackass.

BOOKER DARVILLE

Really, I'm bein' nice to you and that's how ya repay my kindness?
