mutism: the more ya know

Ok, let's talk about mutism bc it's a v close topic to me.

I understand that Michael was talking to Benn on the phone, although Benn is mute. which I guess could be considered confusing unless u got that he had talked to Michael for the first time for the simple fact that he was in trouble and knew Michael would come... bc that's obviously what happened. so.

Now, there are two types of mutism. The kind you are born with, and "selective" mutism.

however.

I personally suffer from what is REFFERED to as "selective" mutism. It is more than often caused by anxiety, you scared/nervous/anxious and your brain won't ALLOW you to speak.

which is why I don't call it selective. does it sound like I chose to be mute? no, I did not.

so, making it known. Benn has selective mutism caused by trauma that u will soon learn about.
