James was more paranoid than overprotective as a parent and had a bunch of weird made up superstitions like if a kid coughs exactly 3 times and then burps at the exact age of 7 years, 7 months, 7 days, 7 minutes, and 7 seconds, the kid will be mauled to death by a crocodile at the age of 32 and then get decomposed by a vulture while on a safari in December.
