Jaemin checked the time on his phone before eyeing the girl that had fallen asleep on the leather couch inside the studio.
The two had spent most of the night chatting and getting to know each other better.
Jaemin had learned that Yerin's father was actually against her coming to Dream and if it weren't for her mother, she wouldn't be here. She also confessed that although she liked her two friends, Jisung and Chenle, they were both younger than her and made her feel like a babysitter.
Eventually, the girl had ended up falling asleep while Jaemin was working on his film assignment. Jaemin had draped his jacket over Yerin, casually sitting at the computer as he made his edits.
Jaemin was debating whether or not to wake the girl up as the sun would be rising soon when Yerin began to stir.
"What time is it?" Yerin groaned as she tried to find her phone but failed miserably in her drowsy state.
"5am." Jaemin answered. Yerin sighed, peeling Jaemin's jacket off her body as she ran her fingers through her hair, fixing it.
"I should probably go home." Yerin mumbled before staring at Jaemin. "Did you even sleep?"
"Yeah, I took a nap." Jaemin lied.
"You still look exhausted though." Yerin pointed out.
"I'll be fine after my coffee." Jaemin said as Yerin began gathering her things. "Are you leaving?"
Yerin nodded her head. "I think my bed is more comfortable than the couch."
Jaemin chuckled, saving his work before shutting his laptop down. "Wait for me."
Yerin stood quietly by the door, holding Jaemin's jacket in her hands as she watched the male organize his things. Just as he was finishing up, Yerin made a comment.
"Are you normally this slow?"
Jaemin was instantly reminded of his friends who constantly called him out on the exact same thing. "Maybe."
"No wonder you're always late." Yerin mumbled, crossing her arms.
Jaemin didn't know if it was an insult or a joke as he swung his bag over his shoulders. "Someone's fiesty in the mornings."
His words caught the girl off-guard and Jaemin couldn't help but smile as there was a look of panic in Yerin's eyes.
"Come on, let's go." Jaemin said as he took his jacket from the girl's hands, walking past her as he moved through the exit of the studio.
...
Yerin didn't understand Jaemin. He was a complete mystery to her.
Despite having spent the whole night with him, Yerin still felt like she barely knew the male as she glanced over at the table that he sat with his friends.
The Jaemin she met at night was soft and kind, making jokes with her despite how cold she acted towards him. He opened up to her about his own insecurities with getting a job in the film industry while comforting Yerin about her own problems.
The Jaemin she saw that day was completely different.
Yerin had watched Jaemin turn down multiple girls, ignore Ara in the halls, and didn't even bother greeting his friends with a smile. He glared at people who were slightly too loud for his comfort and walked with his hands in his pockets, shoulders back. This Jaemin was cold and intimidating.
And this confused her.
"Noona, are you okay?"
Yerin's head snapped towards the two boys the second she heard Chenle's voice and she instantly felt bad as she saw the looks of sheer terror in their eyes. She immediately relaxed her face and saw their souls return to their bodies.
