I woke up the next morning, still feeling blissful from being able to transform. I got up, changed into my robes, did my hair and headed to the common room. I waited for Lily, Dorcas and Mary to come down but only Mary did. 'Uhh, y/n. I'm really sorry but we're going to sit with Marlene and she said she doesn't want you there. I'm really sorry! I hope you don't think we dislike you or anything because Lily, Dorcas and I definitely don't!' Mary said sounding ashamed. 'It's fine Mary, don't worry. I'll find someone else to sit with.' I smiled and got up from the couch and headed to the great hall.
I walked into the hall, which was still mostly empty since breakfast didn't start for around another thirty minutes, and looked at the Gryffindor table. The table was completely empty with the exception of two people who I'm assuming were first years because of how small they were. I sat down near the middle and took out a book from my bag, it was a book on charms. I read over a spell we covered a couple days ago and decided to try practise it. I reached into my pocket for my wand and — my wand? Where's my wand?! I didn't have my wand! Merlin where could it be?! I thought over everything I had done the past morning and realised I hadn't even had it the night before. The bush! I left it in the bush! I thought as I jumped up and ran out to the grounds.
I was going as fast as I could towards the bush I had left my wand in. Luckily for me, it was there. I grabbed my wand and headed back inside. 'And where do you think you're going, Diggory?' A cold, harsh voice came from behind me. I felt someone grab the hood of my robe and push me against a wall. It was none other than Regulus Arcturus Black. 'Well, since it's almost time for breakfast to start, I was going to the great hall, Regulus.' I sneered. 'Well, I do believe blood traitors do not deserve such luxuries as breakfast. Imagin, Y/n Diggory of the Sacred 29, hanging around a mudblood like Evans. It's pathetic. I could've saw my parents agreeing to an arranged marriage between us. Would've got the Diggory family involved in the Noble House of Black.' Regulus muttered. 'Don't you dare call Lily that!' I growled, grasping my wand tighter. 'And what will you do? Go get your little friends?' He hissed. 'I recommend you get the hell away from her, dear brother, or you'll have me to deal with and we both know you don't want that.' Another voice came from the exit to the castle. I could recognise that voice anywhere, it was Sirius. 'Well well well, two blood traitors in the one area, how befitting. I'll leave her be, Sirius. But keep in mind, her parents may just end up agreeing to an arranged marriage between her and I.' Regulus chuckled as he backed away from me. 'You okay?' Sirius asked, running up to me. 'I'm fine, your little brother is just trying to get me to be a blood-purity maniac like your family' Sirius laughed when I finished speaking. 'Well, m'lady. Can I walk you to the great hall on this fine day?' Sirius asked with a bow. 'I'm sure that would be splendid, kind sir.' I giggled as Sirius and I walked to the great hall together.
While walking the halls, when we were far enough from Regulus, Sirius grabbed my hand and spun me around. 'What was that for?' I laughed as I looked into his mesmerising grey eyes. 'Because I wanted to.' He smirked and shrugged before pushing open the door to the great hall for me. 'Ladies first' he gestured to the door and I walked in, Sirius right behind me. When we walked in, breakfast had just began. The girls were all sat together and when Sirius saw Marlene, he turned to me. 'You can sit with us if you'd like. They don't mind since you're like a fifth marauder.' Sirius smiled. 'Only if the boys are alright with me sitting with you.' 'Moony, Wormtail, Prongs, can y/n sit with us?' Sirius asked them. The boys all nodded and managed to make an extra space for me. I sat down beside James, Sirius sat at the other side of the table beside Remus since they were to only two spaces. 'You doing okay from last night?' James whispered to me. 'Yeah Jamie, I'm fine. Thank you for helping me last night. I was really scared and I needed a friend.' I whispered back. James patted my back softly and went back to his breakfast. 'So y/n, did the thing you were working on go as planned?' Remus asked. I knew he was referring to me becoming an animagus since he knew about it. 'Yes, it went very well Remus! I was very happy with the results!' I smiled. 'Remember what you promised though y/n.' Sirius said in a grim voice. I think he means about the whomping willow I thought as I nodded at Sirius in agreement. 'Well, I need to get to class. I have potions first. See you guys later!' I said getting up. Remus followed me since he had potions too. 'Y/n, what was Sirius talking about? The promise?' He asked. 'Oh, that? He made me promise I wouldn't go near the shrieking shack or the whomping willow in my animagus form on a full moon.' Remus tensed up when I finished talking. 'Remus, are you okay?' I asked, I was quite worried about Remus. He is one of my good friends after all. 'Y/n, I know why he made you promise that. I feel like I can trust you enough to tell you but please don't be afraid.' Remus said as he pulled me into an abandoned classroom
I walked in with Remus, he looked worried. 'Okay, y/n this is no ways means you can break the promise you made to Sirius now that you know but I feel you deserve to know. This is also why Sirius, James and Peter became animagi. Just please don't freak out..' Remus trailed off. I placed my hand on his shoulder and looked it him. 'Remus, I won't freak out I promise you. There's nothing you can do that'll scare me.' I smiled reassuringly at the boy. 'Well, uh I-I'm... I'm a werewolf..' I was slightly shocked when he said this but I just pulled him into a hug. 'Remus, you being a werewolf could never change the way I see you. I see you as a kind, caring and smart boy who somehow manages to deal with James and Sirius. Honestly, your like a superhero! Managing to cope with those two idiots while having to suffer so badly? You are my idle Remus John Lupin!' I said while squeezing him. 'Y-You're not afraid? Even James, Sirius and Peter were a little afraid when I told them..' I felt a tear land on my head coming from the boy. 'I could never be afraid of you Remus. Now come on! We have potions!' I pulled him out of the room and we headed to potions together.
A/N - I've come to realise that this book has been overly focused on your relationship with Sirius so far. So, I've decided while I will continue to have moments between y/n and Sirius, I'm going to focus a little more on the friendships y/n has in the next couple of chapters. So we're going to be seeing more of Lily, Dorcas, Mary, Marlene, James and Remus in the next couple of chapters. We may even see a bit of Severus and Regulus too. You never know. Also Amos is gonna show up again soon, I just need to think of ways since uh in my experience siblings mostly avoid each other at school. I hope you enjoyed this chapter and I'll see you soon!
