"Doc, good morning po." bati ng road manager ni Gino
"Good morning din."
"Hinihintay ka na po ni Gino."
I nod and smiled at him.
"Good Morning Doc." Bati nung PA nya
"Good morning din po."
"Good Morning Annika, kahit anong oras maganda ka pa rin talaga."
I just rolled my eyes at Gino. How could he easily say things like that to me. Para kaming walang past ah! Haii. Remember your promise, Annika! Remember that what you are doing is part of your job. Nothing more, nothing less.
"I have the results with me. And these are not good results."
I sighed and took out the printed results. I also asked Gino's companions to seat with us.
"Your tests show that you have valvular heart disease. The Aortic Valve located here, between your left ventricle and aorta is nearly closed."
When I looked at him, he was just staring at me. Hindi sya nakikinig. Nakakainis!
"Mr. Locsin, are you listening? Why are you smiling? Don't you understand what I am trying to say??"
He smiled.
"Hearing you like this makes me so happy. Napakaganda mo na, napakatalino mo pa."
"Makinig ka please?"
"Nakikinig naman ako. Hindi ko lang talaga maintindihan kasi hindi ako makapaniwalang katabi kita ulit ngayon."
"Mr. Locsin!"
"15 years ba naman Annika, namiss kita."
I stood up and collect all my patience.
"Tsaka wag mo naman akong tawaging Mr. Locsin, parang di naman kita naging Misis nyan."
I sighed. Wala talagang patutunguhan ang usapang ito.
"Sir, I will be out of the country for half a month. Dra Dani, a fellow in this hospital will be filling in for a while. It is your choice if you will transfer to her. If you won't, then, we'll have the surgery when I come back. Maybe you'll listen to her when she explained. I will take my leave. "
"Annika wait. "
Hindi na ako humarap sa kanya. Kaya ko maging doctor nya pero hindi ko kayang pakiharapan sya ng hindi naiinis. Baka makalimot ako at masaksak ko sya ng scalpel.
"Doc!"
"Doc, pasensya na po kayo Doc, pagsasabihan ko po si Gino
"I will let another Doctor explain everything to all of you. I am not so good in handling patients who do not listen well. Pagdating nung isang doctor sana hindi na sya magulo. Iwan nya na kamo ang pagiging artista nya sa set at wag nya na dalahin dito sa ospital."
"Sige po Doc, pasensya na po talaga. Hindi naman po talaga ganyan si Gino sa iba."
I nod at his Road Manager.
"My flight is later this afternoon, I will still need to have rounds. Please ask your patient to behave. Thank you."
"Salamat po Doc at pasenya na po talaga."
I just nod at him and had my exit.
Nakahinga lang ako ng maayos nung makalabas ako sa kwarto ni Gino at nagpunta sa station. I called Doc Dani and told her that she needs to explain to Gino everything. Sinabi ko na lang na nagkaroon ako ng emergency call. Haii. Nagsinungaling pa tuloy ako!
