(this takes place after Endgame and in modern day society and Tony is alive)

2020

There's been a pressure in your head for the past few days and it hasn't gone away. No matter how many Tylenol pills you shove down your throat, the headache doesn't disappear.

"Tony, babe." You call for him from the living room. You're currently sprawled out onto the big sofa, a blanket draped over your lower body, and a damp rag lay across your forehead.

"Yes my love?" He shouts from the lab just down the hallway. You hear the buzzing of electricity and him softly mumbling to himself.

You look at your watch on your wrist, a one year anniversary gift Tony gave you a few months ago, and it reads 1:45am.

You let out a sigh, finally giving in that you will not be sleeping again tonight.

You feel super out of it. You're body feels very... heavy, and it scares you but you don't want to frighten Tony.

"Fuck." You hear your boyfriend say as he's walking out of the lab. "(Y/N)..."

You look up at him as he approaches you from the wall he just turned from.

Before he even says anything he bends down and gives you a soft kiss on the lips. You appreciate that kiss a lot since he doesn't do it much. He's too busy for small stuff like that.

"Jarvis just notified me that I have come in contact with COVID! How ridiculous is that!" Tony exclaims.

"What?! Tony you just kissed me! You probably just spread it to me!!" You yell frustrated. "Tony!" You whine slightly angered.

"Apparently I have had it for a few days now." He sighs.

You've grown up with severe health problems. Whenever you get sick, you get REALLY sick and you normally take months to recover. You've been homeschooled your entire life because of it. You just have a weak and horrible immune system.

"But I can't die from a virus?" Tony questions as he retreats to the other end of the room.

"Six feet apart please! Jeez, (Y/N) wear your mask!" Tony jokes around.

You sit up and you feel very woozy. "Tony I don't feel so good."

"Don't fucking repeat that sentence ever again. Do you hear me?" He angrily says as he comes back over to help prop you up on a pillow. He stuffs the edges of the blanket under you so you're cocooned.

"But do you really not feel well? Let me call the doctor and I'll order some soup and rice from that one 24/7 joint down the road, okay?" He says as he pulls the phone out of his back pocket.

"I've haven't been feeling well for the past couple of days actually..." You tell him. He looked at you shocked.

"And you've just now told me!? (Y/N) are you kidding me?" He pinches the bridge of his nose and takes a sharp inhale. "I'll be back."

"I'm sorry..." You whisper.

"Don't be, please stop, okay? I'll get you some fried rice and some warm soup so you can feel better okay?" He walks out the room and mumbles something under his breath. He's definitely angry since he knows about your low immune system. He's been very good to you, he took care of you from head to toe when you started sneezing from allergies a few months ago.

"Guess I'll be out of work for a while." You've been working at the front desk of the complex. All you do is paper work since.... Natasha is no longer with us to do it. Clint doesn't visit anymore, he's always with his family, and I don't blame him. Steve is just old Steve now. Sam and Bucky are off doing charity work for those in need for the pandemic. Peter is being homeschooled at Aunt May's house because of Corona, and honestly you haven't heard from anyone else.

You both got together when he and Pepper split. She wanted to raise the kid by herself. What a bitch, am I right?

Tony hasn't seen Morgan in months. And it's definitely taken a toll on him. But what can you do? The wife takes her away then a pandemic decides to spread throughout the entire world and the country is on lock down. But the effects of the virus has finally found you. And you are absolutely terrified.

"The doctor has confirmed that I have COVID, and he said so do you." As he walks into the room. "I ordered the food by the way. It should be on the front door step in a few minutes."

"So we quarantine together then?" You wiggle your eyebrows at him.

"(Y/N), take this seriously okay?" He barks as he sits down on the couch at your feet.

"Tony, I'm going to be fine. Can you lighten up?" You beg him as you touch him with your toe.

"(Y/N)..." He starts.

"You know I love you Tony."

"I love you to but... Oh god.." He lets out a sigh.

"Tony what is it? Please tell me." You sit up and you have to hold your head, It fees like it could explode.

"I- (Y/N)... my beautiful (Y/N)." He breathes. He turns his body to you and cups your face in his hands.

He runs his thumbs across your cheek bones as he admires your face. A small, sad smile is displayed on his face.

"What is it Tony." You put your hands on his.

"The doctor... he uh- he said...." His voice cracks and his eye well up.

You lean your right cheek into his hands understanding what's happening. You melt into his touch and exhale. "I know...."

"Please don't leave me.." He breaks into a cry.

"I'm going to fight Tony." You look him in the eyes, your own holding tears.

You've never thought about death before. It's absolutely terrifying once you realize it's happening to you now and not later.

"Cremation, blue lilies, only the team and my family. Spread me in the lake at your lake house, okay?"

"You just told me you were going to fight this-"

"I AM. Just giving you a little heads up because I do not want to be in a rusty ass wooden casket under the ground." You let out a laugh.

He lets out a breath of air from his nose signaling to you that he laughed at the joke.

"So what do I have to do?" You ask him. "What did the doctor say?"

"Nothing really, the doctors in the states suck. Just sleep, take this medicine, they're sending over an oxygen machine just incase, and quarantine from the rest of the world, but you can do that in my arms." He gives you a soft smile.

"Okay." You return the smile and you sit up so he can sit behind you. He wraps his arms around your waist as you lean back. You listen to the swirling of his reactor, which lulls you to sleep.

It had been five weeks from that call. Tony woke up next to you in his bed at 8am that Friday morning. No shallow breathing, no movement, no nothing. All he knew was you passed away in your sleep peacefully. The doctor said you didn't feel any pain, and when they looked at your body, you had a small smile plastered on your face.

And all Tony could think about is how you'll forever be in a dream; and hopefully, he'll be in that same dream alongside you.
