9. Date

"Will you be my girlfriend?"

The words clouded your head. You couldn't help but smile and let out a little laugh at the thought. He looked so cute as he studied on your bed. Your legs were on his lap as he wrote down in his notebook. You just admired him and the little things he would do.

The scrunching of his eyebrows when he didn't understand something, the little lip bite, and his fingers when he typed on his computer. Your eyes widened at your thoughts.

"Are you hungry?" You asked a little bored and wanting to do something. He looked up at you rubbing your leg as he did so.

"A little." He replied.

"I can make something. I'll be back." You smiled as he squeezed your leg in thanks before getting back to his work.

You headed to the kitchen as Cuckoo flew onto your shoulder. You decided to make some hot soba. You got to work chopping up some vegetables and boiling the noodles.

You finished in 20 minutes. Seasoning the meal with some sesame as you placed it on a tray you headed back to your room. Opening the door as Ushijima was in the same position doing the same thing.

"Here you go." You placed the tray on the ground so he could get off the bed. He finally got up stretching before sitting on the ground joining you.

"Thank you." He said stuffing his face. You laughed before eating some as well. You weren't that bad at cooking as you enjoyed the taste.

"How is it?"  You asked looking at him as he finished the bowl. "Or how was it?" You teased as he smiled.

"It was really good, thanks."

"What do you wanna do today?" You asked looking at the time, 2:30pm. It was Sunday, you pet the bird as he sat on your finger.

"We could go on a date?" He asked making you choke. You didn't expect him to say that as he patted your back like a baby.

"Date?" He nodded his head and you looked at the bird.

"We could go to the new Cat Café?" He asked and you nodded eagerly. You remember the time when you had to practice with the team instead of going with you friends.

"I'll go change." You said looking down to your pyjama shorts and sweater. He closed the door behind him giving you privacy to get ready.

You decided to wear a cropped knitted sweater and your favourite jeans. It was a little windy outside as you put on your outfit making sure it was warm enough.

"Ready?" You asked and he nodded as you headed out.

You decided to drive as Ushijima sat shot gun. You laughed as he turned on the radio to black pink. He started slightly bobbing his head to the music as you hummed along.

"Sing." He said and you looked over to him.

"What?"

"Sing. I know you want to." He said and your cheeks flushed.

"No. That's embarrassing." You laughed and he shrugged his shoulders. You looked at him longingly again before turning up the music so he couldn't hear you.

You'd started quietly singing along to the lyrics to 'You Never Know' as he stared at you. He tried lowering the volume but you slapped his hand away. You soon got to into the music to notice that he turned it down. He smiled at your voice as he found his new favourite sound.

"We're here~." You sung hopping out of the car. It looked so cute as you grabbed his hand hurriedly heading into the café.

"How many?" The hostess asked. You held up two fingers. "Follow me." She said and you headed to the table where a black kitten and a white kitten were napping.

"This is Cloud and Jasper. Enjoy!" She said and walked away as you sat down.

"They're so cute!" You exclaimed as they purred under your touch. Ushijima sat down as Cloud went up to him and sat down as well. You didn't take notice until it became quiet, they were having a staring contest.

"Uh. You good?" You asked laughing as they kept staring at each other. Jasper had been in your lap purring.

"No." He said and his eyes started tearing from staring too long. "I'm gonna win."

You couldn't help but burst out laughing. Soon the kitten, Cloud jump on him making him gasp as the kitten held on to his shirt for dear life.

"Ow." He said as Cloud climbed into his shoulders. He grabbed the kitten laying him in his lap before he grabbed the menu.

"What are you getting?"

The date was successful as Ushijima tried stealing Cloud before he got caught. You drove Ushijima back to his house saying goodbye before heading back home. You unlocked the door to complete darkness.

"Cuckoo?" You called out to your bird. He didn't chirp back as you headed further into your apartment.

"Boo!" You screamed hitting the person in the stomach. "Oh my fuck Y/n." They groaned and you ran to the light turning it on.

"Kuroo?" You gasped looking at the tall bed head as he lay on the ground groaning. "Kuroo I'm so sorry!" You ran to the freezer grabbing an ice pack before heading to him as he tried getting up.

"Here." You held the ice to his stomach as he leaned against the wall.

"Hey Y/n." He smiled up at you slapping your cheek lightly as you just glared at him.

"What the hell are you doing here?" You asked your childhood best friend. You've been friends since the 1st grade.

"I came to surprise you! Can't I see my best friend of 16 years?" It was true, you haven't seen him in a long time. Ever since you left Tokyo. You wrapped your arms around him, you missed him so much.

"Of course you can." You whispered as he wrapped his arms around you. He gave a quick squeeze before letting go and walking to the kitchen. When he came back in the room you gulped.

"By the way. Who's is this?" He said holding up Ushijima's school sweater.

"There's something I've got to tell you."
