I sighed deeply as I watched how my classmates cried. They are somehow OA, akala mo naman ay mga lilipat ng school. Though, some of them are, but mostly ay dito pa rin naman sila sa SPAC magse-senior high.

"Our batch salutatorian...Nadine Mira Montañez" our adviser called my name

I walked with my Mom and Dad. Smile in their face is really genuine. I can feel how proud they are for me. Applause from the crowd are defeaning, but it somehow made me happy. Seeing people claps for my victory feels great.

We stop as we reached the center of the decorated stage. My teacher hand them my medals and my parents proudly put it on me. We posed at the camera in the front before leaving the stage.

I saw how Tita Madela smiled at me, beside her is my boyfriend who is grinning widely. His smile is wider than mine, akala mo ay sya ang nakatanggap ng mga medalya. I smiled in them in return. Hindi pa pwedeng lumapit sa kung kanino namin gusto dahil may program pa.

Nathan was called in stage for being an athlete. He doesn't have any medal related to academic performances, lahat ay may kaugnayan sa pagba-basketball nya. Mas marami ang medal nya sakin! Given in his contribution as an athlete in our school.

He winked at me while he's on stage, I just rolled my eyes. Hindi talaga sya nahihiya kahit kelan.

Nang matapos ang program ay mabilis na lumapit sa pwesto namin sina Nathan.

"Congrats Nami, you're really smart iha" pagpuri sakin ng Mama ni Nathan, si Tita Madela

"Thank you po tita"

I hugged her and she hugged me back. Nagpaalam si Nathan na mag-uusap lang kami saglit and our parents agreed. Nang bahagyang lumayo kami ay nagsimula na ring mag-usap sila Mommy at si Tita Madela.

Yeah, our parents are close.

"Lalo kang gumanda nung nag make up ka"  he stared at my face

I cleared my throat because of that direct compliment.

"Ang dami mong medal" pagbabago ko sa topic

"Sayo na lahat 'to basta akin ka na. Ano game?" He asked while grinning

Umakto pa syang huhubarin na ang mga medalyang nakasabit sa kanyang leeg

"Ewan ko sayo" hinampas ko ng mahina ang dibdib nya

"May celebration din sa inyo ano?" Bawing tanong nya

I just nod.

"Pag maagang natapos ang celebration sa bahay, subukan kong pumunta sa inyo" sabi nyang tila nag iisip

"Wag na. Baka mamaya magalit mga bisita mo at aalis ka" pigil ko

"Let's just celebrate the next day, pwede ka? Gusto ko na ring masolo ka ulit ih" he said seriously

"I don't know..." I said shyly

Ang hilig naman kasi nyang magsalita ng mga ganyan. Wala man lang warning or what.

"Ipagpapaalam kita kay Tita" kumpyansang sabi nya

After our conversation we go back to our parents. Konting pag-congrats ulit at nagpaalam na kami sa isa't isa.

The rest of my day is tiring. Buong oras ng selebrasyon ay wala akong ginawa kundi mag 'thank you po', sa lahat ng nagco-congrats sakin.

I'm lazily walking in our stair. Ni hindi pa ako nagsisipilyo man lang o naliligo, I just really feel hungry kaya bumaba kaagad ako. Inaantok pa ako! Hindi rin ako halos nakatulog kagabi.
