Considering it was only around noon when they returned from the mission, Haven felt it was a good time for an outing.

She took the elevator to the roof and stood there. The view was immaculate.

But she couldn't get distracted.

Haven looked to the sky and smiled, "Heimdall, I'm gonna need a ride."

And just like that, the rays of colorful light bounced into all corners of her vision. Her feet tore from the ground and she was gone, her body zooming through realm after realm.

It only took seconds for her to arrive, grinning from ear to ear. As soon as her feet hit the ground, she let the blue-green fog dress her in her usual snowy white Asgardian attire.

"Lady Haven, as I live and breath." Heimdall smiled, nodding down at her. "How has the Midgardian lifestyle treated you?"

"I've loved it." She replied, waving him farewell and walking onto the rainbow bridge.

Her heels clicked against the bridge for a few minutes before she lifted, letting her cape flow behind her as she went.

The air in Asgard was the best she had ever experienced. There was nothing like it. It was clear. It was clean. It was unending. Haven wondered why she had ever left it in the first place.

And then his face flashed in her mind. His blue eyes, with the tiny ring of emerald around his pupils. His honey blonde hair, that was shorter on the sides and longer on the top. His broad shoulders, that pulled at his shirts making his clothes seem almost too small. His voice, that gets a slight rasp when he's worried. His heart, that was far too big for his line of work.

Her feet hit the ground, cutting all thoughts short. It was a familiar click, the sound of her heels on the marble floors.

Looking up, she took a moment to admire the palace. To admire the golden walls from the ground to the sky.

Then, when her gaze dropped, she saw the people. The people that would usually be walking on and chatting among one another, were stopping to stare and chatting about her. It makes the hair on the back of her neck stand on end and she pushed forward, walking into the palace before anyone else got a good look at her.

"Lady Haven, " a familiar dark-haired woman smiled, nodding as she passed.

"Lady Sif," Haven replied, nodding back.

The blonde woman let the sound of her clicking heels float to the back of her mind, walking as quickly as possible.

The throne room was empty except for Odin and two guards.

When she entered, all eyes were on her, again.

"Hello, " she said simply, wanting to attract his attention and show the guards that she meant no harm.

Odin smiled widely, standing from the throne and walking towards her. He held out his elbow and she intertwined their arms as they walked out of the room.

Finally, in the comfort of his bed-chamber, Odin shifted into the man of the hour. His raven hair falling into loose curls down his shoulders.

"Ah, to what do I owe the pleasure of your company, daughter?"

"Nothing out of the ordinary, I was just hoping to have lunch with my father. Who I haven't seen in quite some time."

Loki nodded, "I shall go fetch us something."

Haven walked over to the table beside his window, looking away as her father turned back into Odin and exited the room.

Asgard.

She couldn't help but think she was on some sort of vacation. One where she would return home in a couple of hours.

She was supposed to be home and return to work in a couple of hours.

It was all off. Everything. Her world had changed, she couldn't help but wonder if it would ever go back. Would she ever sleep in her bed-chamber again? Have breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the dining hall?

"Here we are."

Haven turned, smiling widely as Loki returned. He balanced several golden plates on one arm, two crystal glasses on the other.

He put the dishes down in front of them. Haven reached forward, grabbing the glass and admiring the small golden designs scratched into the crystal. It was beautiful.

"I've had Heimdall watch you. I wasn't blessed with your Sights, and I had to know you were alright."

Haven looked up, nodding. "I understand. I would have done the same."

"He says you're enjoying your company," Loki replies with a smile.

"Yes, the Avengers have made me feel right at home."

Her father's expression dropped. "The Avengers? I thought you were just with Rogers and Romanoff."

"I was at first, but then Tony-"

"Stark? You've made friends with Stark? That foul, loathsome-"

"Yes, I've made friends with Stark, and Barton, and Banner. Is that a problem?" Haven spat, her voice rising slightly.

"It's certainly not a solution!" Loki shouted. Though, as soon as he did, he shook his head and looked down. "I think you should come back, live here with me. Rule Asgard with me."

"No," Haven said, furrowing her eyebrows. "No, I have a duty on Midgard. I said I would help them, thus I'm helping them. Asgard has no need for me the way they do. I cannot stay here."

And so, she left.
