LUNA TRAILED NEXT TO THE DOCTOR, LISTENING AS SARAH JANE AND ROSE BICKERED BEHIND THEM, Mickey following along as well.

She didn't understand their hostility, or why neither of them were trying anything with her. Perhaps it was because she just met the Doctor too. Luna supposed that she hardly knew any of them, really, and it seemed as though Sarah Jane and Rose had a relationship with him.

Luna looked back at the pair, eyebrows furrowed as she glanced back at the Doctor and then to the floor. Sarah Jane looked good for her age, but she didn't know what sort of relationship the pair had. If romantic -- which seemed the most plausible because of the reactions both women were having -- it must have been recent. The Doctor looked quite young, young enough to be with Rose, but probably chase after Sarah Jane. But it seemed as though they just met?

None of it made any sense.

"What sort of Doctor are you?" Luna settled finally, looking up at him.

A sort of smile rested on his lips and he looked around for a moment before glancing down at her. "Doctor of everything."

Luna snorted. "Yeah, okay."

His smile widened. "No really," the Doctor pushed. "I'm a doctor of everything. Time, space, history, maths, medically -- everything."

Luna narrowed her eyes. "I'll believe it when I see it. Right now, you're just a man with a title."

The Doctor smirked. "You'll see very soon."

"Maybe those rats were food?" The Doctor guessed and Luna stared down at the pointed glow-y thing in his hand.

"What is that? How'd you unlock the door?"

He ignored her, nodding to Rose. "Rose," he called her attention. "You know you used to think all the teachers slept in the school?" Luna blinked, following his trail of sight. "Well, they do."

Luna's jaw dropped at the sight of giant bats hanging from the ceiling, eyes wide in shock. "Oh my..."

"No way!" Mickey gasped, turning around and running from the room. Rose and Sarah Jane followed after, but Luna stayed for a moment, watching the strange creatures in front of her in awe. The Doctor nudged her gently, pulling her out of the room and he shut the door slowly.

"That's incredible," she turned to him. "What were those things? How did you know they exist? God, this is amazing, they're like..." Luna trailed off, unsure of how to finish the sentence and Mickey nodded.

"Terrible. I am not going back in there. No way."

"Those were teachers," Rose shook her head.

"When Finch arrived, he brought with him seven new teachers, four dinner ladies and a nurse. Thirteen. Thirteen big bat people. Come on."

Luna face-palmed gently. "I should've realized. They were so weird, I just thought it was a cult or something. Sacrificing kids or...but this is mad. Bonkers." She grinned. "I bloody love this."

The Doctor beamed down at her. "I thought you'd have run off by now."

She shook her head. "Oh, never. This is so much better than grading papers."

He laughed. "I like you, Luna Peterson," he turned back to the others. "I need to get back to the TARDIS, I've got to analyze that oil from the kitchen."
