Kurapika notices your sniffy nose and how your head sways side to side with tiredness. Your face was getting paler and you barely pay attention to your task as bodyguard. He gets a little worry when you use the wall as support, leaning over and sneezing.

"(Y/n), you're not feeling well." It took you a second to register before you shake your head, "Nah, I just didn't get enough rest. I promise I a- I- Ah... choo!" You sniff in hard and wipe it with your arm, "Ok, maybe I got a little sick, but I'm fine." You smile. Kurapika gives you the 'oh really?' look with his arm cross. His face was written with concern, "Melody, tell the boss I'll be back in a bit, can you handed things here?" Melody nods her head and gives him a salute, "Don't worry Kurapika, make sure (y/n) gets enough sleep. Her heart is not beating normally." "Oh, I'm fi- Achoo!" Kurapika takes your weak hands, "Take a day off, it won't hurt." You squeeze his hand, "Mhm... I guess you're right."

While holding hands, Kurapika brought you all the way to your guys' room. He lays you down and put the back of his hand against your head, "You're burning up." "It's not that bad..." He brings the blanket up to the chin, 'I'll call in the maid to help take care of you." He caress your messy hair and kisses your forehead, "Your task today is to get better. Boss's orders." His cold hands trail down to your warm cheeks. It felt so relieving, but then he pulls away. He kisses you on the forehead again, "Go to sleep. Rest a bit and I'll be back after the job is over." Your sniff in annoyance as your nose gets clogged, "Ok..." Kurapika gives you one last smile before turning off the lights and closing the door. The dimmed sunlit room made you feel hazy. Your eyelids droop, bringing you into the world of sleep.

You wake up, barely breathing due to your stuffy nose. You hear pages being flip beside you. Your turn your head to see Kurapika reading a book. His legs cross over. He seem so engross in the story as his eyes quickly went left to right. You touch your forehead noticing a cold towel. You sat up with the towel plopping into your hands.

When Kurapika notices, he quickly puts the book down, "Are you hungry? How are you feeling?" Your heart feels giddy as he cares for you. "I'm fine... I'm a little better than before, thanks to you. What time is it?" "It's 5 in the evening. Wait here I'll get you dinner." He props the pillows up for you, pulling the covers to your waist. You put on a cheeky smile as he kisses you on the forehead. He was acting just like a mom- no maybe a husband. You couldn't help but squeal to yourself, covering your blush with the blanket.

Kurapika slowly creaks the door open, carrying a tray with a bowl of soup and a bottle of... ew. Medicine. Not any kind of medicine. The kind that is cherry flavor and makes your throats burns like there's no tomorrow. He places the tray down on the nights stand next to the bed. Sitting himself down, he grabs hold of the warm bowl, mixing it with the spoon.

"You're going to... feed me?" Kurapika chuckles, "Have a problem with it?" You shake your head, "N-No!" He chuckles again while scooping the soup up and cooling it. He blows softly and the brought the spoon to your lips. Your heart needed to take a moment to recollect itself.

He fed you with a gentle smile, wiping your mouth every now and then. After the last spoon of the soup, here comes the most dreaded part. Kurapika takes out another spoon, filling it with the dense red liquid. You gulp down anxiously, "Do I really need to drink that?" "If you want to feel better." He brought the spoon up to your mouth. You eye it skeptically, giving this awful flavored medicine nasty looks. "I'll count down for you." Kurapika says, "3...2...1..." You take a deep breath and open your mouth.

You want to spit it out, but you force yourself to burn your throat with tears edging out your eyes. "Here." Kurapika gives you a cup of water which you gladly took and chug it as soon as you got it. "Ew..." You stick your tongue out. Kurapika couldn't help but laugh. He wipes your mouth, "You act like a child sometimes." You give him a pout, "And you act like a mom... most of the time." Kurapika holds his chin, "I do?" You give him a surprise look, "Yea! Duh! I would name all the moments you acted like a mom!" Kurapika laughs, "Well I guess I like mothering you." Your heart clench itself as your cheeks boils red, "My heart... It's running... laps." Kurapika kisses your forehead, "Rest a bit, I'll stay right next to you. I don't begin my task until tonight." You give him puppy eyes, "R-Really? You'll spend your precious time with me?" Kurapika gives you a smile while he holds your hands, "Of course, because every second I spend with you makes it precious." Your heart twists with love, "How did I get somebody so caring as you." Your eyes water as you squeeze his hand. Kurapika sweatdrops, "Ah, I think you're getting emotional. Go to sleep."

He sits on the edge of the bed as he made you lay down. "How about I sing you a lullaby?" You nod your head as he holds your hand. You close your eyes as he begins singing,

"You are my sunshine, my only sunshine... You make me happy... when skies are grey..."

Your eyes were quickly caught by tiredness as Kurapika's thumb run circles around your hand.

"You'll never know dear, how much I love you... Please don't take my sunshine away..."

As your breathing settles down, he lays down next to you. Your foreheads touched. He smiles, "Get better soon. It's boring at work without you."
