I look down at my phone, reading the text from Liam:

I have Sarah. Headed to the docks.

Jackson caused me to jump as he slid in my passenger seat.

"You know what they say, Em."

"What who says?"

"The world," he rolled his eyes, "People who scare easy are either guilty of something.. or attempting to hide secrets. So which one is it?"

I laugh nervouslly, "You just startled me. No deep meaning."

"Where are we going?"

My foot pressed down onto the gas, "It's a surprise."

"Surprises never end well for me."

I laugh, "Oh my God, do you remember that time at Jenny's surprise party?"

He waved his hand, "Please do not bring that up."

My hand covers my mouth as I laugh hysterically, "That clown really surprised you-"

"How the fuck was I supposed to know they had a clown?"

"It was a birthday party!"

"She was like thirteen!"

We both laugh until we are in tears.

Once we settled down, I was only about ten minutes from the docks.

"So, how did it go with Sarah?"

He slowly nodded his head, "It went better that I thought, but I don't know what to expect from her."

I chew the inside of my lip, "You never know."

"So, where are we going?"

Sighing, "Take a guess."

We pass the road sign directing to the docks, "Really? Why are we here?"

I parked my car by the edge of the entrance, "You will see."

A few minutes later Liam's jeep pulled around us, leading the way.

"Why is he here? Are you two going to kill me or something?"

I laugh in an evil tone, "You will see."

We both stepped out of the car at the same time. Liam joined my side, whispering, "She is not happy out this."

Liam's passenger door opened and Sarah stepped out. Jackson turned and walked back to the car.

"Woah, hold it," I held my arm out to stop him, "You are not going anywhere."

We all sat down in silence, and Liam wrapped his arm around me.

"So, Liam... how was your trip?"

Liam glances over at Jackson, who is awkwardly rubbing the back of his neck.

"It was good, man."

Sarah rolled her eyes, "You lied to me."

Liam didn't respond so she stood up to finish her rant, "You told me that we were going to pick up Emilie and go to the movies. Liar."

He shrugged, "We can still go to the movies."

"Oh my god," she sighed, "Is this like an intervention?"

"Look," I sit up straight, "You two need to work things out, and if I have to push it then I will push it."

Liam's hand rubbed my back, "And I will help her."
