Julia’s P.O.V.

When we got to the boys’ home, Luke was repeatedly reassuring me that everything was gonna be okay and that his friends would like me which made me feel even worse.

He’s been such a good guy to me and all I’ve been doing is playing along with Ash and the rest of the guys’ plot to get him back on his feet again. Josie fucked up big time by messing up with Luke, he’s really something special, I just don’t know why I don’t feel that way for him.

"Lads I brought Julia over!" Luke announced once we entered their home, he kept his hand placed protectively on the small of my back as Calum, Mike, and Ashton came out from their rooms to greet me.

"Julia it’s so great to finally meet you," Michael spoke up first shaking my hand

He was awful at this.

Every word he spoke seemed staged, and I could tell that they had to rehearse what they were going to say a few times just so they wouldn’t mess up.

"You too," I fake smiled

"You’re literally all Luke talks about," Calum said emphasizing his statement like he was trying to tell me that the plan was working

"He’s kidding, I don’t talk about you that much," Luke said trying to play it off casually

"Julia, it’s really nice to meet you. I’m heating up my mum’s spaghetti right now, it’ll be done in a few minutes then we can eat," Ashton said shaking my hand last as I tried to refrain myself from talking about his mum’s cooking

"Sounds good," I smiled

"I’m gonna get some drinks, you want anything Julia?" Luke offered as we all sat down on the couches of their living room

"Beer," I said instinctively knowing that this night would go a lot smoother with a little alcohol in my system

"Definitely beer," Ashton added on

Once he left the room, my back instantly found its way to the couch as I leaned back finally able to relax for a moment

"We’re in too deep and you all know it," I silently groaned to them

"We can’t just force her to do this for us," Calum reasoned with Mike and Ash

"Yeah we can’t," Michael said

"Jules, if you really can’t do this anymore then you ca-" Ashton was about to say until Luke came back in carrying bottles of beer for all of us

"Thanks," I said to him as he handed me the beer and plopped on the spot next to me on the couch, making me sink closer to him

"No problem," he said placing his arm around me as I quickly downed a few sips to get the night going

Michael turned the tv on to get the background noise to fill the silences, but for the most part, conversation was flowing very well between all of us. The alcohol released some of the tension in the air and we could actually let out a few laughs for once.

When Luke left to get the food from the kitchen, Mike was flipping through the channels until that one familiar face hit the screen.

The girl who had broken Luke. Josie.

"Wow I wonder what bullshit she has made up for this interview," Calum said coldly as Michael contemplated on whether or not he should change the channel

"Don’t. I want to see if she’ll cause even more damage for publicity," Ashton said, but I knew he wasn’t telling the complete truth

His words didn’t come out clearly and that was always a sign that he was just coming up with an excuse. There was something about that girl.
