Loki and you had been wandering around Stark Tower nearly every day. One day you were in the library, the next you spent in the not much-used art room, then you backed something in the kitchen and so on. It was rare that you two stayed near Loki's cell. The usually so closed up Asgardian price bloomed up and you were happy for that but as soon as you met one of the others, he closed up again and became cold and distanced. Honestly, you were a little happy that the times that you met the others were rare.
As there were less things and places for Loki to discover, you found the two of you in your room chatting about everything and anything or just sitten next to each other while reading. You enjoyed the company of the black-haired man and found yourself healing from your emotional injuries.
Today you were reading one of Loki's books. It was an old fairytale but you loved it.
"Your imaginations are beautiful," Loki stated suddenly. You tore your eyes from the book and looked at the man next to you on the bed. Your head fell slightly to the side as a questioning look took place on your face. Loki looked at his hand that lightly touched yours. You hadn't noticed till now.
"I can see what's on your mind when you read. There is something that lets me in when you are focused on a good story," the young prince stated. A blush spread across your cheeks. He had seen the world forming in your mind as you read. He must have seen how the main characters looked like in your fantasy and how the world constructed itself. The details said a lot about your character and not everything was meant to be shared with another person.
Just as Loki wanted to speak up again, F.R.I.D.A.Y.s voice rang out.
"Miss (Y/L/N), Master Stark asks you and Mister Leufeyson to come in the kitchen. He and the others are waiting for you." You looked at Loki who's eyes were huge and filled with fear. It pained you to see this misunderstood man in this state.
"Loki?" you spoke up softly, your hand grabbing his carefully and gentle. He looked you in the eyes, his green ones locking with your (E/C) ones. Reassuring him that it would be all right, you smiled at him and sequenced his hand lightly. His face softened a little but it remained tensed.
The both of you made your way towards the kitchen. At the door, you looked at Loki who was still holding your hand. You were a little tensed yourself but had be to calm for Loki. Tony was like a brother to you but hadn't seen Loki and you walk around the tower. You were sure that he knew but that he was now calling you both in the kitchen was freaking you out a little bit.
To convince Loki and a little bit yourself, you sequenced his hand again and smiled up at him once more before opening the door. All the Avengers sat at the big table that was filled with pots and plates. It seemed like a usual dinner but something was off.
"Loki!" Thor boomed as he saw his brother walk into the room. The Asgardian wrapped his brother in a big hug and you felt how Loki tensed up by only holding his hand. As you realized that Tony, Steve and Nat had noticed you holding Loki's hand. You let go of it and brushed a strand of your hair out of your face.
"Please sit down you two," Tony spoke. His voice was not stern but you still heard an uncomfortable tone in it. You and Loki did as told, the God of mischief sitting next to you. The dinner was awkward and you didn't eat much even if it was your favorite dish. After you all had eaten, Tony spoke up again.
"I see the both of you are walking around the tower quite much?" he stated his eyes fixed on the both of you. Nervous, you cleared your throat and answered "Umm... yes, we do." Your nervousness showed in your shaking voice.
"Has he done anything to you? Has he hurt you in any way?" Tony asked bluntly. On your face, a look of shock appeared.
"What? No! Why do you ask this?" you asked, anger rising in you. It was like back then. Why should it ever change?
"I just wanted to make sure that we decided the right thing," Tony said, looking at Steve and Nat. You raised an eyebrow at them. What was going on?
"We noticed that you both are spending a lot of time together. Also, we saw that you trust him and so we decided to... give Loki a chance." Tony said. Wide-eyed you looked from Tony to Steve and back to Tony. After a moment you looked at Loki. His face was cold as stone and he didn't move a muscle. You grabbed Loki's hand to pull him out of his daze. He blinked a few times, then his eyes flicked to you. It was nearly like he wanted to know if this was true or just a dream. As you sequenced his hand a small smile appeared on his face. In his eyes something shone. Was it... relieve? Before you could think about it Tony spoke up again.
"We don't have a spare room and because he got a chance he can't remain in his cell, so he'll stay at your room (Y/N)." You nodded your head in agreement. You weren't bothered to share your room. There were only a few things that were able to get you angry or annoyed and this wasn't near one of those. In fact, you were even a little happy to have him in your room.
