---- 3th persons POV ----

"King Elladan and Princess Meyra of Alfheim," a loud voice announced. The ballroom was filled with people from all realms (except Midgard). Princes, princesses, kings, queens, warriors,... all kinds of people from high social classes were gathered here tonight.

"Miss Anela and Mister Manoru Cullen from Nefilheim." Festive music was playing and joyful chattering filled the air. Warm light shone from crystal chandeliers, illuminating the ballroom and making the delicate robes glow. The Asgardian King Odin and his wife Frigga were chatting with their son, Thor.

Even if everything was happy, a hint of tautness was present. Everyone knew about Loki's actions and didn't expect to see him ever again. Yet again, they were curious about how he changed and who this mysterious woman was, which was suspected to be the reason for him to change.

As time went by, slowly everyone became impatient. Most of the people were there already and still, there was no sign that Price Loki was to appear soon.

----------

At the same time, a woman was nervously walking up and down her chambers. The snake-shaped earrings that held a green gem were swinging nervously, matching her own temper. The young lady jumped as someone knocked at the door. With quick steps, she walked to the door, her fingers trembling.

The door opened and a man dressed in a festive amour in green and black with golden accents stood in the hall. His black hair was slicked back and a small golden wreath was placed on top of his head.

"You look breathtaking," he stated.

"And you are late Mister. Where have you been? I've waited for nearly an hour. I was worried," the woman replied, turning her back towards him.

"I am sorry. I was busied up to the moment where I gave Càirdeil your dress. I was giving my best but I wasn't finished being ready till now," he said honestly.

"It is okay. I was just worried," she said, turning back to him. She approached him gently, placing her hands on his upper arms. A soft smile shone brightly on her lips.

"I am really sorry. I know I had you waiting," he said, a look of guilty in his eyes. One of her hands rose to cup his cheek.

"It is okay," she spoke softly. "You're here now. That's all that matters." A moment of silence fell over them.

"If I remember correctly, there is a ball we have to attempt," the woman smirked now. The mischievous glint appeared also in the man's eyes.

"Since we are already late, why not make a marvelous entrance?" she asked and her counterpart extended his arm for her, clearly liking the idea.

----------

Impatient whispering filled the room now. The prince was expected an hour ago but still was nowhere to be seen. Rumors started to spread and insecurity appeared in some eyes. Just as the tension reached its height, the big doors opened and a man and a woman appeared. A servant took the big white cape, made of fur-like material from the woman's shoulders.

They stepped up to the large stairs.

"Prince Loki of Asgard and his accompaniment Miss (Y/long/N) of Midgard," the voice boomed through the now silent room. Murmuring got loud as the Prince of Asgard walked down the stairs with a woman by his side that was dressed in a deep red dress. It was not the usual design you saw in Asgard when you were at a ball or something like that. The front of the skirt was shorter than the back and the fabric waved around her in a lightly puffed form. Black pumps peeked out from under the material. The red velvet parted on one side and showed off an amount of white tulle. Inbetween the white fabric there were red roses, looking like freshly cut in the gardens and deep green rose pedals, rimmed with gold. Hits of green traced through the white part and caused an impression that a real rose grew in the dress. Where the skirt meet the top part, the rose grew out of the fabric and entwined around the woman's back to creep over her shoulder and bloom in a single rose on the side of the dress's heart-shaped neckline. Two straps finished the dress off since they reached the arms lightly but left the dress off-shoulder. A golden snake with green emeralds as eyes laid around her neck, matching her earrings.

Everyone watched in awe as the pair walked up to the King and the Queen. Loki smirked to himself, proud of his work. He had spent a lot of time, thinking and trying around to make this piece of clothing perfect. It was supposed to make this woman the most beautiful and to match her character.

Soon the tension from earlier was forgotten and everyone enjoyed themselves. People danced and laughter filled the air. Odin and Frigga seemed to be amazed by how much their son had changed over the last month. They had last seen him before the attack on New York and now he was a new man.

---- Your POV ----

Loki excused you both from his parents and leat you to the dance floor. He spun you and placed his hand in yours. The other one landed on your hip, pulling you close to him. A happy song came on and the dark prince started to swirl you two around the room. People watched as you danced happily. At some point, Loki spun you around to wrap your and his arm around you to spin you back and pull you close again. The entire time, a bright laugh adored your face.

As the song ended, a much more calm one played. Loki still held you close, swaying softly to the music. Your breath was intense due to the dance from just a moment ago. Your (E/C) eyes stared into the green ones of the man with the black hair. Cold skin touched yours as your foreheads met, just as your noses did. Everything around you seemed to fade away as you stared at each other. Green orbs darted for a moment to your lips and yours did the same.

Slowly noses caressed each other as they slid over skin. You were just about to close your eyes as a scream and chatter caused both your heads to snap towards the glass doors of the balcony.
